Brits bored of the bad weather might want to swap the drizzle for a bit glamour, as The White Lotus heads to Saint Tropez for its fourth season. Since 2021, the hit HBO show has made destinations from Hawaii to Sicily irresistible, turning luxury hotels into the bucket-list escapes for sunseekers.

According to the Great British Holiday Audit conducted by the experts at easyJet, on screen hits have redefined how we holiday these days. Data suggests that up to 28% of travellers would pick a destination based on TV, book or film, rising to over 50% for Gen Z and Millennial travellers.

The fourth season of the hit satirical comedy will feature the 19th-century palace-hotel, Château de La Messardière in Saint Tropez. Synonymous with opulence, the property boasts breathtaking panoramic views of the Côte d’Azur, 32 acres of impeccably manicured gardens and an exclusive private beach club that’s the ultimate playground for the rich and famous.

Saint Tropez is where sun-soaked beaches meet glittering nightlife, drawing jet-setters, artists and anyone with a taste for stunning sunsets and designer flip-flops. From the iconic Club 55 and Pampelonne Beach to the pretty cobblestone streets and pastel-shuttered houses, the seaside town exudes class and quintessential French charm.

The Kube Hotel, Saint-Tropez

The Kube Hotel is a luxury retreat set within a two-hectare landscaped park featuring olive trees and colourful gardens. The hotel offers three swimming pools (two heated), a spa with personalised treatments, and is just a five-minute walk from Bouillabaisse Beach.

Guests can dine in the is on-site restaurant, Moloko to enjoy Asian, Mediterranean and traditional cuisine on the terrace or rooftop, with panoramic views of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

Guests who have already experience a stay The Kube have shared their experiences. One said “First class! Beautiful hotel, 3 awesome pools, spa treatments, very friendly and helpful staff and the rooms were very roomy and well appointed. I would stay here every time I visit St. Tropez.”

Another added: “The hotel has beautiful facilities and grounds. The pools are big and also heated. Service is spot on.”

With such a high rating it would be hard to find too many negatives, but one visitor did note that “although the bedrooms were clean and spacious, it was a little tired.”

Another delighted visitor exclaimed: “We stayed in The Kube hotel for 6 nights and we loved our stay. The hotel has 3 pools, amazing rooftop bar and beautiful views on the water! The hotel is very conveniently located, it’s only 3 min drive to the centre of St Tropez.”

Catalogne Hotel

Catalogne Hotel is a coastal retreat on the French Riviera, just a five-minute walk from the beach. The hotel offers a heated pool surrounded by palm trees and pretty gardens for an authentic Mediterranean feel.

There are massage services available and stylish rooms with garden or sea views. Guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast, lunch on the terrace, and explore nearby restaurants and beach clubs, with bicycles available for local sightseeing.

This hotel has a pretty impressive 4.4 out of five-star rating on Tripadvisor. One visitor called it an “excellent hotel all round,” adding: “Great staff, very clean, good bar snack food for lunch and dinner, good sized pool and great atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed our whole stay.”

Another added: “Fantastic hotel in a wonderful location. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had interaction with different members of staff on reception, and the pool bar staff, and all excellent. Highly recommend this hotel in this lovely little town just along the coast from St Raphael.”

One guest was less impressed with the position however, noting: “It was very noisy because by the roadside the Pension is expensive compared to the setting! We were disappointed.”

Mercure Brignoles Golf de Barbaroux and Spa

This four-star hotel is set away from the beach in the heart of the countryside near Brignoles. With direct access to the 18-hole Golf de Barbaroux course, it features spacious rooms with views of the golf course or surrounding greenery.

On-site amenities include a seasonal outdoor pool, spa with sauna and hammam, tennis courts and a restaurant serving regional cuisine. Guests can enjoy outdoor activities, local vineyards, and scenic walking trails, or drive into the beaches and bars of Saint-Tropez.

While this hotel is located quite some distance from the beach, it receives high praise from guests looking to get away from it all. One five-star review said: “We have stayed at this hotel for many years. The chef’s menu was excellent with fresh products, the service was attentive, and the room was very clean and we felt truly looked after during our stay.”

Another added: “Good for a night before or after golf — decent prices, well‑sized bedrooms, and friendly service at the bar. It’s a lovely setting.”

Some guests were put off by the location, with a disappointed travel saying: “OK Golf Hotel in very remote location! 5-10 miles from Brignoles off route de cabasse!”

Others loved it: “Great setting and lovely experience. We stayed for a weekend and enjoyed the serene golf course views, friendly service, and comfortable rooms. The spa and pool made for a relaxing few days.”
