An anaesthesiologist, David Callejo has warned people about a “magic pill” that works wonders for your health, only, it’s not an actual pill. Speaking on the podcast, Ac2ality aka @ac2ality, all about living longer, aka, longevity, he revealed the three pillars which can help us get there.
He stressed that anyone can implement without needing medication – and it’s “the best thing you can do for your health.” In his first message, he said: “Strength training without a doubt. The best thing you can do for your health is strength training.”
This is because he said it works to “treat or prevent 30 chronic diseases, it’s the magic pill for health and longevity. The variable that will most condition your long-term health is strength. Do strength training.”
In his second way to live longer, he said that nutrition is key – but the key is don’t “overthinking it.” He advised: “This means eating vegetables, greens, legumes, fish, and poultry as your protein sources.
“Keeping a healthy diet, which is something we already know more or less. Avoid ultra-processed foods.”
In his third and final piece of advice, he notes that “healthy lifestyle habits” are integral to living longer. This includes “drinking enough water, having regular circadian rhythms, that is, waking up at more or less the same time, going to bed at the same time, and above all, sleeping adequately and correctly.”
