‘I bought this a week ago and my goodness my hair is so soft and shiny… The shine is impeccable’

The heat can play havoc with hair, leaving it feeling dry, damaged and in desperate need of some TLC. But one shopper says a bargain £3 Sainsbury’s buy has made a huge difference to their locks – and it’s currently part of the supermarket’s Nectar Card summer sale.

The Pantene Repair & Protect Keratin Protect Hair Mask is now available for £3.25, down from £6.50 for those with a Nectar Card, and is designed to give dry and damaged hair an intensive boost. The treatment is formulated with Pantene’s Pro-V formula and Active Nutri-Plex, alongside 50% more bond-protecting agents than the previous formula, the brand says.

It’s designed to nourish dry and damaged hair while helping to protect against the effects of styling. According to Pantene, the mask can help repair visible damage in just one use, while leaving hair looking healthier and feeling stronger.

The Pantene mask isn’t the only haircare bargain included in Sainsbury’s Nectar Card summer sale – and anyone with a Nectar Card can take advantage of the savings.. There is also the Pantene Pro-V Repair and Protect Hair Conditioner for £3.25, down from £6.50. Similar to the mask, it is designed to help restore hair bonds. It has a unique Pro-V blend to avoid a greasy finish.

For those who want to keep on top of their summer glow, there is the Bondi Sands Gradual Tan Face Lotion 50ml for £6.65, reduced from £10. This moisturiser has shea butter infused into it so it not only builds up a gradual tan, but keeps the skin moisturised.

The mask is set to give dry and damaged hair the nourishment it needs.

It is suitable for sensitive skin and is non-comedogenic, so it won’t clog pores – and it’s also cruelty free and vegan. Lastly is the Olay Vitamin C+ AHA Day Face Cream 50ml for £15, down from £38.

Shoppers can brighten their skin with this moisturiser, with results promised within 24 hours. It is supercharged with vitamin C+ AHA, antioxidant vitamin E and 99% pure niacinamide to help activate surface cell renewal.

If shoppers wanted to look at alternative hair masks, Boots has the Dove Damage Rescue 10-in-1 Repairing Mask 270ml for £5, down from £10. This formula promises to help repair up to three years of hair damage, by helping reinforce hair bonds and boosting shine.

Lookfantastic then has the L’Oreal Professionnel Absolut Repair Molecular Rinse-Off Hair Mask 250ml for £54. Although on the pricier side, it has been rated highly by shoppers and is said to have a silky, creamy formula that detangles and nourishes hair.

The Pantene Repair & Protect Keratin Protect Hair Mask has been rated highly by Sainsbury’s shoppers, with one writing: “I bought this a week ago and my goodness my hair is so soft and shiny. I have multicoloured hair and this mask is super nourishing. Hair is incredibly soft and looks so healthy. The shine is impeccable.”

Another added: “So I started using this once a week and left it for a good 3 to 4 hours to help my bleached hair and I’m shook. Honestly after rinsing and drying my hair felt so good and soft I was thrilled. The heat can play havoc with my hair and this has helped massively.”

Although there were no negative reviews for the product on Sainsbury’s, over on Boots, some people disagreed. For example this four-star review said: “ I found weekly use a bit too much, and surprisingly, it didn’t make my hair as soft as the conditioner. I might try leaving it on longer next time.”

Overall, most people were pleased, for example this person commented: “I’ve been using it for a month now, my hair has never felt better! I use it once a week as part of my hair care routine and my hair feels lighter and healthier – and it smells amazing.”
