While there are dozens of beauty advent calendars filled with makeup and skincare, fragrance-focused offerings are a little more few and far between. Though Jo Malone’s scent-centric countdown may be one of the most popular in the niche, we’ve found a more affordable option that allows shoppers to try out perfume and aftershave from a range of top-name brands for a fraction of their RRP.
The Fragrance Shop has launched their own take on an advent calendar, starring 25 days of luxury fragrances worth over £300 for him and her. It’s priced at £120, but those who sign up to be a My TFS member can get it even cheaper.
Anyone who signs up to be a My TFS member can immediately get 20% off the calendar, making it £96. This means customers can save more than £200 on the contents.

There are three membership tiers to choose from, and if it’s just the calendar you want to save on, you can opt for the cheapest plan, which is £15 per year. This gets you three 20% off vouchers to use, and it still works out cheaper than paying full price for the calendar. Alternatively, if you plan on gifting bottles of fragrance at Christmas or throughout the year, you could opt for the £25 or £39 per year plans, which get you five vouchers, or unlimited vouchers respectively.
Inside the calendar, fans will find scents from popular fragrance houses like Rabanne, Carolina Herrera, DKNY, Marc Jacobs, Hugo Boss and more. The calendar stars a total of 235ml of fragrance, which could last months, as well as added extras like candles and vouchers.
One of the bottles, the 24 Gold Eau de Toilette 50ml, is usually £52 alone. The unisex bottle boasts notes of jasmine, sandalwood, amber and vanilla, making for a cosy and comforting fragrance.
The calendar is a great way to allow customers to try out a variety of scents without having to splurge on just one bottle. Not only that, but the pocket-friendly fragrances make ideal stocking fillers, meaning you could save on your Christmas shopping, too. However, some people may have preferred two different calendars – one for aftershave and one for perfume – as some people may not enjoy using both. Other fragrance themed advent calendars to have launched this year include Sentier, which offers both candles and perfumes. The high-end advent calendar delivers over £500 worth of products for £99. Alternatively, Jo Malone London has unveiled its highly anticipated 2024 advent calendar, for £350.
Elsewhere, there are discovery sets available from Maison Margiela which gets you 12ml of fragrance for 36, while Phlur’s offering gets you 16ml for £39, both available at Space NK.
