What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is an annual sales event where participating brands offer significant discounts on a broad spectrum of products. The sale kicks off on the last Friday of November and continues until the subsequent Monday, dubbed Cyber Monday.
This name was originally given as brick-and-mortar stores would typically conclude their discounts on this day, allowing online retailers to step in.
In recent times, most Black Friday sales take place online, although some retailers introduce fresh deals to mark the weekend’s end. Initially a post-Thanksgiving tradition in the US, Black Friday found its way to the UK in 2010 via Amazon’s inaugural Black Friday sale.
When is Black Friday?
This year, Black Friday lands on Friday, November 29th, and extends until Monday, December 2nd. However, it’s worth bearing in mind that some retailers may commence their deals earlier in the month.
