‘Everyone sleeps better, feels more relaxed since we incorporated this into our lives! Also it’s a game changer to have this as a nightlight for the baby’s room. Love it ! Holds charge extremely well.’

People are always looking for ways to improve on their sleep, helping them feel more energised and ready to attack the next day. To mark World Sleep Day (March 13), premium wellness brand Bon Charge has announced a 25% off sitewide sale across its range of science-backed, sleep, recovery and wellness tools.

The sale runs from March 12 at 7am until March 14 at 4pm, giving customers a chance to optimise their sleep with technology, and savings of nearly £500 are up for grabs. For example, shoppers could look at the Blue Light Blocking Lamp, which is down to £33.74 from £44.99.

According to Harvard Medical School, blue light can affect sleep and potentially cause disease. “Blue wavelengths – which are beneficial during daylight hours because they boost attention, reaction times and mood – seem to be the most disruptive at night,” Harvard writes. They also add that the “proliferation of electronics with screens” is increasing exposure to blue wavelengths.

Blue light at night time can suppress the secretion of melatonin and shift circadian rhythms, potentially having a negative impact on sleep. According to Harvard, there are some things people can do to protect themselves from blue light at night – including replacing night lights with dim red ones.

That’s where Bon Charge’s Blue Light Blocking Lamp comes in handy, as it can block both blue and green wavelengths. According to the site: ‘Designed with your well-being in mind, this lamp emits pure red light, free from any blue or green wavelengths, to promote optimal sleep and protect your eyes from eye strain.’ The lamp has a versatile gooseneck design, and it is also cordless and portable.

The lamp also has a versatile gooseneck design which means it can be positioned and exactly where it is needed and it is also cordless and portable.

Bon Charge also offer a range of wellness products, including the Beauty Sleep Kit which is reduced to £395 from £526.67. This comprehensive kit includes a red light toothbrush, a red light face mask to rejuvenate skin, crystal blue light blocking glasses to ‘support your circadian rhythm in the evening, preparing you for deeper rest’, and lastly a blackout contoured sleep mask to ‘create total darkness and uninterrupted sleep’.

Another option in the sale is the Infrared PEMF Sauna Dome for £1,496.25 down from £1,995, saving customers nearly £500. This sauna is called ‘the ultimate all-in-one wellness device’ and can be used to relieve tension and support recovery. To use this one, shoppers simply lie down on the mat provided, slide the dome over themselves and relax.

The dome can reach up to 90 degrees and is said to be ideal for post exercise recovery and wellness. It also has red light and near infrared light options around it to relax the body even more.

An alternative option is the Night Light LED Touch Bedside Table Lamp for £12.26 down from £14.99 on Amazon. This lamp offers 13 light colours, with five brightness levels and three modes, so it can be highly personalised.

Or there’s the Lumie Bodyclock Spark 100 Wake-Up Alarm Clock for £99 on Argos. The Lumie clock offers a 30 minute gradual adjustable sunrise to wake people up naturally, and also a 30 minute fading sunset to help them relax.

The Blue Light Blocking Lamp from Bon Charge has been rated highly, with one person writing on the website: “I’ve tried many red light options. My husband is an athlete. This brand is the only one we will purchase any and all red light options from. I use the small lamp for middle of the night feedings with my newborn. The blanket for recovery. Best quality out there!”

Another commented: “Everyone sleeps better, feels more relaxed since we incorporated this into our lives! Also it’s a game changer to have this as a nightlight for the baby’s room. Love it ! Holds charge extremely well.”

Some others disagreed, for example this person as part of a longer review: “When you turn on the light, it starts on low, then you press again and it goes to medium, then to high. I would prefer the opposite, so that you don’t increase the light intensity if you want to turn it off and your bed mate is already sleeping.”

However, most people were pleased, with another reviewer writing: “This light is THE BEST investment I have ever made and I’m 77. I can get up, go to the toilet whether I am bush camping or in a house and go straight back to bed and sleep as though I haven’t left my bed. The usual bright ceiling light and torch fully waken me. I have just given my grandkids 1 each to leave the brightly lit living room with and make their way to their bathroom and bed. Don’t hesitate you will be suitably surprised and it is so easy to charge, BEST PRODUCT EVER.”

Bon Charge has a 25% off sitewide sale running until 4pm on March 14.
