A new set of collagen and creatine supplements are designed to support everyday strength, energy and recovery
Plenty of people will recognise collagen, a protein that has become something of a buzzword in the beauty and wellness world. Best known for its starring role in skincare, it’s also widely available as a supplement designed to support the body’s structural framework – including joints, skin and bones.
Now, leading functional foods brand DIRTEA has introduced its Essential Set, pairing DIRTEA Pure Essential Creatine with DIRTEA Pure Essential Collagen. The set is £51 as a one-off purchase, or customers can opt for a subscription every four weeks, reducing the cost to £36 (a 30% saving) and receiving complimentary gifts worth £30.
According to the brand, the Essential Set is formulated to promote ‘everyday strength and cellular energy’ while supporting ‘cognitive function and focus.’ It may also appeal to those looking to safeguard joint health and encourage healthy ageing, thanks to collagen’s role in maintaining tendons and connective tissue, as well as aiding recovery and overall resilience.
Far from being a fleeting health trend, oral collagen supplementation has been the subject of scientific scrutiny. A 2023 meta-analysis published in MDPI (a peer-reviewed open-access publisher) reviewed 26 studies and found that collagen supplementation may improve skin health, particularly by enhancing elasticity.
This is significant, as skin elasticity naturally declines with age. That said, researchers noted that larger-scale studies are still needed to confirm these findings.

Creatine is backed by a deep well of research; Iowa Specialty Hospital calls creatine monohydrate one of the most extensively studied and cost-effective ergogenic supplements for healthy adults engaged in strength, sprint, or power activities. Research published by MDPI also found that daily oral collagen supplementation improved skin moisture and elasticity after eight to 12 weeks of consistent use, reports the Daily Record.
DIRTEA’s Essential Set contains no artificial flavourings or unnecessary fillers, with formulations designed to support both body and mind. The powders blend seamlessly into coffee, matcha, smoothies, or water, and can be taken any time of day – an easy upgrade to even the busiest morning routine.
If DIRTEA’s range doesn’t appeal, shoppers might prefer Holland and Barrett’s Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides (£23.99, was £29.99). Those who’d rather have their supplements in gummy form can browse Amazon for Free Soul’s Collagen Gummies (£9.99 for 60), which have been formulated to complement a beauty regimen.
DIRTEA’s range has received glowing feedback online, with the brand’s website accumulating more than 22,000 reviews and achieving an overall rating of 4.8 out of five stars. On Trustpilot, the company has similarly won over customers, boasting a review score of 4.6 stars – classified as ‘excellent’ on the platform.
One customer remarked: “Excellent product! Started with Matcha, will be ordering collagen soon. Fast delivery, great price.”
Another commended the firm’s customer care, writing: “We love the products-they’re high quality and competitively priced. Ordering is easy and customer service is excellent.”
It is worth pointing out that whilst impressed, one customer felt DIRTEA’s products were on the expensive side, writing: “Love the cacao and matcha but the coffee is a little bland to my taste. All products are well marketed but on the pricey side.”
Notwithstanding this, another enthusiast declared: “Super products. Very good taste.”
