Lindt currently have their Dubai Style Chocolate Pistachio and Kadayif bar on sale in Tesco. However shoppers were left gobsmacked when they sale the price it was on sale for as they spotted it on the supermarket’s shelves

Dubai-style chocolate seems to be everywhere at the moment. The original version of the chocolate bar which is filled with kadayif and pistachio, was created in Dubai by Fix Dessert Chocolatier. However, due to its popularity, many chocolate brands have now come up with their own version of the sweet treat.

This includes chocolate giant Lindt who currently have their Dubai Style Chocolate Pistachio and Kadayif bar on sale in Tesco. However shoppers were left gobsmacked when they sale the price it was on sale for as they spotted it on the supermarket’s shelves. One person took to Facebook to share the news that the tasty-looking chocolate was on sale. They wrote: “Dubai Style Chocolate Now in Tesco!”

The post quickly racked up hundreds of likes, however, many were stunned by how much it was on sale for.

One person exclaimed: “£10 for a bar of chocolate? Does it contain a golden ticket to win the entire chocolate factory?” While someone else added: “And at £10, it can stay there.”

A third chimed in: “Corr I would want it to fly into my mouth at that price.” While a fourth simply said: “Not at that price.”

Others admitted they had already bought the £10 bar, with many saying it “wasn’t worth” the money. “I was one of the crazy people that spent £10 on this today and I can confirm it’s nice but not worth a tenner,” someone said.

Another added: “I tried and it’s good, but not £10 good.” While a third claimed: “It doesn’t taste like pistachio, more like hazelnut, avoid for the price, Lindt pistachio chocolates are way better!”

A further Facebook users also branded it the “most overrated chocolate ever”, adding: “I don’t see what the hype’s all about! It’s ok but not the best and certainly not worth the price.”

Despite this, the chocolate bar did have at least one fan on the post, as one person branded it “unreal”.

Those who don’t want to splash out £10 on the bar may want to try Lindt Lindor Pistachio Chocolate Truffles instead, which are slightly cheaper at £7.50 for a 200g box.

Eagle-eyed Lindt fans may have also seen that there was a pistachio-flavoured Lindt LINDOR Easter Egg on sale at Easter too. However, this wasn’t exactly cheap either, with an RRP of £13.00.

Talking about its pistachio range, Stefan Bruderer, Master Chocolatier at Lindt & Sprüngli, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing chocolate fans more pistachio varieties, as we know how much they love them. Our Lindt LINDOR pistachio Truffles were a huge hit last year.”
