A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a teenage boy at a railway station.

British Transport Police (BTP) said a 17-year-old boy was reported to have been raped in the toilets at Sheffield Station at around 3.30pm on Friday.

The incident was reported by a third party later that day, and the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is being supported by specially trained officers, Yorkshire Live reports.

The man has been released on bail pending further enquiries. A crime scene remained in place at the station while officers carried out forensic work.
