‘At least 10 people’ have died in horror blaze at Swiss ski resort

At least 10 people are reported to have died in a horrific fire that broke out at the ski resort in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.

Police have said that there could be more than 10 others that have suffered burns in the blaze at Le Constellation bar.

An investigation has been launched with currently no indication that the fire was started deliberately and it is believed that fireworks could have been the cause.

“The fire started around 1:30 a.m. this morning in a bar called ‘Le Constellation,’” police spokesperson Gaëtan Lathion said. “More than a hundred people were in the building, and we are seeing many injured and many dead.”

A reception center and helpline have been setup for impacted families. “We’re just at the beginning of our investigation, but this is a internationally renown ski resort with lots of tourists,” Lathion said.
