Marks and Spencer shoppers are racing to snap up a pair of £46 wedge sandals that look like Hermes’ £830 pair and are so comfortable you can wear them ‘all day’
There’s nothing better than a great pair of sandals for your summer wardrobe, especially when they’re stylish enough to pass for designer without the hefty price tag. Which is exactly why Marks & Spencer shoppers have been racing to snap up the Ankle Strap Wedge Sandals just in time for the next heatwave to hit.
The perfect style and shape to ensure maximum comfort whilst still looking chic, the wedge sandals are ideal for holidays, weddings and garden parties, with a classic design that means they’ll never go out of style. Despite costing just £46, the wedges are very similar in look to the Legend Sandals from Hermes, which come with a much higher £830 price tag.

The M&S Ankle Strap Wedge Sandals take inspiration from classic espadrilles with a plaited jute wedge heel which gives them a distinctly summery vibe. The wedge shape and platform toe also makes them easier to walk around in on all surfaces, with fewer aches, wobbles or worries about your heel sinking into the grass.
They have a leather-look sandal front with an adjustable ankle strap which fastens with a buckle. The straps are also finished in contrast stitching, with cut out details that are reminiscent of the designer Hermes pair.
To keep costs low, the Ankle Strap Wedge Sandals are made from faux leather, rather than real, which is what lets you snap them up for under £50. However if you prefer real leather, there are some other great options around.
Stick to the designer buy with this pair of Nellie Nappa Leather Espadrilles from Ralph Lauren, which are currently on sale for £116 down from £165. Alternatively, the Marchesa Leather Wedge-Heeled Sandals from Jones Bootmaker are now just £62.30 down from £89 despite being made with real leather.
If you need a lower heel, Dune’s Littleton Leather Raffia Flatform Sandals are great for adding some height without sacrificing on comfort. Priced at just £79, they’re also made from real leather, and come in both regular and wide fitting styles.
Back at M&S, the Ankle Strap Wedge Sandals are also available in both regular and wide fits, and come in sizes three up to eight. You can also choose from either chocolate brown or tan colour options, with both being a great pick for summer.
They’ve also been a big hit with M&S shoppers, with one saying: “Lovely sandals,stylish and comfortable! Wearing them at my granddaughters christening.”
Another wrote: “The fit is perfect. I have been wearing [them] for 2 weeks now. I can leave it on all day with no discomfort. I love the strap around the ankle, it makes it very elegant and makes my legs look long. I got the dark brown colour which match my skin tone nicely. I can wear it with any outfit.”
Some were less impressed with the comfort of the Ankle Strap Wedge Sandals saying: “Lovely sandals, light and comfy…until you do the strap up! I have very slim feet and ankles but the strap was not very long, so they have been returned.”
Another agreed: “I bought these for a sun holiday and really liked the look of them. However, after a few hours of wear they rubbed my heels, which was disappointing as it has put me off wearing them again.”
However others loved them, writing: “Bought as staples for my upcoming trip through France and Germany. I wanted footwear that could be used to dress up a fairly casual clothing selection.”
Someone else put: “Bought these in wide fit. Super comfy and just the right height.”
