The Princess of Wales wore a beautiful white and navy dress by Jenny Packham complete with a wide-brimmed Philip Treacy hat

All eyes were on the Princess of Wales as she made her first public appearance since announcing her cancer diagnosis in March. Thousands of spectators cheered and waved as Kate made a triumphant return to public life at Trooping the Colour.

Kate, 42, beamed as she waved to the huge crowds as she and her three proud children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis enjoyed a carriage ride from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade to watch the military spectacle. She wore a beautiful white and navy dress by Jenny Packham complete with a wide-brimmed Philip Treacy hat.

British designer Jenny Packham is reportedly one of her favourite designers having dressed the Princess on numerous occasions. While the structured white dress with blue trim detail was stunning, Jenny Packham dresses are not something everyone can afford, so we’ve scoured the internet to find a selection of dresses inspired by Princess Kate’s style.

Kate Middleton has long been our go-to for style inspiration, as she rarely puts a foot wrong with her outfit choices. The Princess of Wales is often spotted in effortless pieces from LK Bennett.

While not quite as expensive as a Jenny Packham dress, LK Bennett does usually come with an expensive price tag and this Charlie Ivory Italian Recycled Cotton-Blend Tweed Dress is no exception at £359. The timeless piece is crafted from an Italian recycled cotton blend in ivory and has a soft boucle texture with black fluffy trim.

Polka dots are also a go-to for the Princess, we have previously spotted her wearing them during her royal duties. This Hobbs Lucilla Polka Dot Midi Shirt Dress oozes effortless class and is sure to be a timeless addition to any wardrobe, currently reduced from £189 to £129 at John Lewis, the dress is made from fabric that’s built to last.

Featuring a collar neckline and long sleeves, it is swathed in polka dots for retro appeal with a tie waist. It’s similar to styles we have previously spotted Kate in.

For those who want a nod to Kate’s style without being obvious, this M&S shirt dress is perfect. The Cotton Rich Collared Belted Midi Shirt Dress is £55 and features statement lace panels on the bodice and cuffed long sleeves with a touch of volume to complete the look.

Shirt dresses have long been a staple of Kate’s. In 2023 she wore a long-sleeved green shirt dress by the London-based label Cefinn while at one of her royal engagements.

If you are looking for something to add to an existing outfit why not try this Ivory Textured Longline Jacket from Roman? The simple classic style would look great over a navy dress or paired with chinos for a more relaxed take on Kate’s style.

This jacket features 3/4 length sleeves, a hook and eye fastening and mock welt pocket details. Made from a lightweight textured fabric and fully lined for cling-free comfort, this longline style will look great over occasion dresses for weddings and evening dinners.
