The Eufy A1 Smart Scale measures weight, body fat, BMI, body fat mass, lean body mass, BMR, visceral fat, muscle, bone, bone mass and water. Thanks to all those metrics, changes in body composition can be accurately tracked during the user’s fitness journey.
That should see BMI and body fat coming down, muscle mass increasing, allowing a greater insights into the changes taking place. The data isn’t just limited to Eufy’s app however, it will also share that data with Apple Health, Google Fit and Fitbit, so it can be monitored and combined with data from other sources.
The scales run on three AAA batteries and support users up to 150kg in weight. The weight measurements are only given in kg or lbs, so those who want weight in stones will be out of luck.
Shopper have plenty of praise for these smart scales, with the gadget racking up an average rating of 4.4 out of 5 from more than 16,000 reviews. One shopper said: “The scale itself is sleek, easy to use, and provides consistent readings.”
A second also praised the accuracy: “The overall bodyweight measurement is spot on and perfectly consistent.”
Some users said that the Bluetooth isn’t always reliable, which can cause problems with syncing: “Bluetooth drops out” said one, while another commented “Frequent loss of Bluetooth connection though on my iPhone. Have to keep re-setting.”
Eufy isn’t the only brand offering smart scales – Salter has rivalling scales for £24.98 on Amazon – supporting up to 180kg – and syncing through the Salter app. The Salter app will also combine with data from the company’s blood pressure monitor for a more complete set of metrics.
