It’s part of a series of new broadband and TV deals

Anyone looking to give their household TV and broadband a boost is in luck, as one UK retailer launches lower prices and a chance to snap up £300. It’s in time for summer’s jam-packed TV schedule, including the 2026 World Cup kickoff. Sky has launched a new sale, which includes its Essential TV and 300Mbps broadband combo package. Great for busy households but still relatively budget-friendly.

It’s now dropped to an all-new price of £35 a month, plus some consumers can claim up to £300 in switching credit. Anyone looking to ditch their current provider can apply and get Sky to help cover some of the exit fee costs – as long as full receipts have been sent within 90 days.

It also comes with no set-up fees, which are usually a £19.95 one-off cost. To put into perspective how good the deal is, the smaller 150Mbps broadband package costs £23 a month, and doesn’t include the £15 a month Essential TV package.

If we base it on the broadband prices, the £35 a month Essential TV and 300Mbps Sky plan essentially breaks down to £15 Essential TV and £20 a month for the 300Mbps broadband. Yes, £3 a month cheaper than the 150Mbps broadband only package and yet double the speed.

The TV and broadband combo package has dropped to one of Sky’s lowest prices, and comes with the chance to claim up to £300 in switching fees.

Of course, being a contract, consumers will have to stick to its relatively lengthy 24-month minimum term. Again, a downside is that the prices will rise across the full contract, as highlighted in the T&Cs and in line with yearly inflation.

Nonetheless, it’s still a package worth considering, especially for households needing strong Wi-Fi and TV fans. The TV part of the plan comes with Essential TV and the Sky Stream puck, which means it has the perk of being satellite and wire-free; it just plugs straight into TVs.

Then its access is another highlight, as it gives users Netflix, Discovery+ and hundreds of Sky channels. Not forgetting Prime Video and Apple TV access too.

Looking at rival providers, Sky’s sale does have a one-up currently, especially as it’s the only one offering up to £300 switching credit. Take Virgin Media, for example, it offers Sky TV on its packages.

The rival Virgin Media Entertainment bundle is £32.99 a month, and on a 24-month contract, which comes with 362 Mbps broadband, so it beats Sky on speed. However, it’s not offering the chance to claim credit for switching shoppers.

Then there’s EE, looking at its TV packages, a new summer deal has dropped its NOW Entertainment and HBO Max to £1 a month for the first six months. Something Sky’s other £24 a month Ultimate TV plan (which also includes HBO Max) can’t compete with.

With a 2.7-star rating on Trustpilot, many of the five-star reviews are around customer service at Sky, helping consumers save money on bundle packages. One broadband and TV package shopper said: “Can’t fault Sky at all – especially their team in this store. Found a great TV and broadband package (much more affordable than Virgin Media), and explained it very efficiently and clearly.”

Another said: “TV, everyone at Sky TV always gives the best advice, always gives me the best deals, always sorts things out very quickly, and I’ve got all the channels and lots more to watch through my Sky.

“Puck and the broadband are so fast and reliable.” However, a few comments note slow speeds on Sky remotes: “As does the remote, which is slow to respond. The user experience of landing on a page and trying to scroll through channels is hampered by its navigation.”
