Samsung cheekily delivered their latest Bespoke Jet™ AI model to the doorstep of Sir James Dyson – the inventor of Dyson hoovers – to celebrate his 78th birthday this week
The inventor of Dyson was gifted a cheeky present by rivals Samsung in honour of his 78th birthday – with the hilarious stunt captured on camera.
Samsung delivered their latest model to the doorstep of Sir James Dyson, who turned 78 on Friday, May 2. Wrapped in a giant blue bow and accompanied by balloons it arrived in style at the Dyson HQ in Malmsebury, Wiltshire. With cameras rolling, YouTuber Zac Alsop and his delivery crew arrived to hand over the Samsung Bespoke Jet™ AI to Sir James, inventor of the original bagless vacuum cleaner. Samsung’s team say their stick vacuum cleaner is the most powerful in the world. And their stunt was just pure, clean fun.
“This campaign was our way of putting that superiority to the test, and having a bit of fun while we’re at it,” said Tanya Weller, Marketing Director for Digital Appliances, Samsung Electronics UK&I. To keep the celebration going, Samsung is giving away over £90,000 worth of vacuums at its Samsung KX store in Coal Drops Yard, London.
In honour of each of Sir James’s 78 years, the first 78 people to arrive with a birthday card for him will receive a Samsung Bespoke Jet™ AI, worth £1,200, completely free of charge.
To be in with a chance, customers will need to bring a birthday card for Sir James and join the queue outside Samsung KX on Saturday May 3.
The first 78 people through the doors when they open at 11am will receive a ticket that secures them a free Samsung Bespoke Jet™ AI. The vacuum will then be ordered by Samsung staff for home delivery on the day. Shoppers can even hand over their birthday cards and get themselves a slice of cake and party bag on the way out.
Even those who miss out can expect discount vouchers – plus a full birthday party for Sir James and a chance to try out the Samsung Bespoke Jet™ AI.
Samsung say the stick vacuums are cordless, lightweight, and powerful cleaners known for their high suction power, long running times, and advanced filtration systems.
