A 12-year-old girl was cornered by a gang of school kids who were egging on her attacker in the shocking incident in West Lothian, Scotland, according to her devastated mum
A 12-year-old schoolgirl was horrifically cornered by a “gang of 40 pupils” on a bustling town street – as sick teens filmed the attack for Snapchat. The young girl, whose identity we are withholding, was surrounded by dozens of pupils who began chanting ‘fight’ as she walked down a busy main road on Monday afternoon in West Lothian, Scotland.
The victim’s mum recounts how her daughter was cornered while others whipped out their phones to record the horrifying scene.
Another female student then appeared to initiate a brutal assault on the helpless girl, delivering a series of punches and kicks as she lay defenceless on the ground.
As the victim tried to shield her head with her hands, laughter can be heard in the background of the disturbing footage.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, the distraught parent expressed her disgust: “It’s actually disgusting.
“My daughter won’t be at school for the rest of the week due to the fear this has caused and I won’t subject her to that again.
“It took place on the high street at lunchtime and school yard Chinese whispers caused it. My daughter was supposedly talking about the girl which was totally unfounded.
“She was cornered by at least 40 school kids shouting ‘fight fight’ with their phones out and she didn’t know what was even going to happen.
“Others were trying to intimidate her but only one girl hit her.
“This was filmed by loads of people on Snapchat. My daughter is very petite as she was premature and had growth issues growing up so the other girl was much bigger.
“”I don’t think it’s safe for children to go out during lunch and children should be kept within school grounds. Antisocial behaviour like this is rife.”
The girl’s mum is in the process of reporting the assault to both Police Scotland and West Lothian Council.
