With Prince Harry set to arrive in London next week – and a rumoured reunion with King Charles on the cards – we have asked Mirror readers if Prince William should meet with his brother during the UK visit

Prince William has allegedly rejected a reconciliation with Prince Harry, who will return to the UK on Monday for a charity event – and we want to hear your thoughts.

It comes after reports suggest King Charles will reunite with his youngest son next week for the first time in 20 months. They last met at Clarence House in February 2024 following the King’s cancer diagnosis announcement, which lasted just 30 minutes.

In July, the Sussexes’ and King’s communications teams met at the Royal Over-Seas League, which was seen as a major step towards healing the royal rift and opening dialogue between the pair. It is believed they discuss coordination to avoid clashes between Sussex projects and royal engagements and the possibility of Harry receiving direct updates on his father’s health.

While His Majesty has shown a willingness to resolve conflicts, tensions between Harry and William remain high, with the latter said to have rejected a reconciliation “out of hand”. Speaking to the Mirror, a source said: “William feels Harry has repeatedly chosen public exposure over private resolution and that the Royal Family can’t keep being dragged into the headlines every time there’s a new contract to promote.

“The issue with Harry, as well as Meghan, is one of trust. Ever since moving to North America, they have eroded all confidence in their ability to keep things or their criticisms private. For there to be any chance of moving forward, that trust has to be rebuilt, and Team Sussex knows the onus is on them.”

It comes after Harry opened up about their turbulent relationship in his 2023 memoir Spare, where he described a “piping hot” William shoving him to the floor at Nottingham Cottage, breaking his beloved necklace. In another instance, while taking a walk after the funeral of Prince Philip, it’s claimed that King Charles was forced to step in and beg them to stop rowing, pleading with his “boys” to not make “his final years a misery”.

He also claimed that the Princess of Wales had made Meghan cry just days before their 2018 wedding, while the Sussexes’ Netflix docuseries in 2022 accused the palace of “unconscious bias” and leaking stories to the press. Firm experts have claimed that William does not support a royal reunion with Harry, as a source told the Daily Beast: “William was right about Andrew, and he is right about Harry. Charles is weak. William is anything but weak.”

They continued: “Ultimately, William is a loyal soldier. He respects his father’s rank, and he respects his father’s right to make his own decisions, and he won’t make a fuss if it happens. But he thinks a Harry meeting is a terrible, terrible idea.”
