People who love to get the most out of their money will often shop in B&M – but there’s some tips to get even better bargains
B&M shoppers will know that most items in the store are usually good prices. However, savvy shoppers have mastered the best way to snag even more bargains.
The Latest Deals team, comprised of expert shoppers who know how to find the cheapest items, shared their top three tips for shopping in the discount store. With a few adjustments, you can maximise just how much you’re potentially saving.
One option is to install the B&M app on your phone, as it is a powerful tool. The free-to-download app has a built-in scanner that allows customers to check the latest price on products in the B&M system.
It might seem like a faff, but this can sometimes reveal that the price tag isn’t current. The Latest Deals team said that “this is how deal hunters find crazy B&M bargains”.
In a TikTok clip, they added: “B&M drops prices on its system without updating price tags. To find the bargains, you have to go around scanning barcodes.”
The clip suggests that some deals include “air fryers for a few pounds and chocolate for pennies.” While it may seem small, every little saves up to make a grand total savings.
It was previously reported that one savvy shopper scanned his entire shop using the app, including homeware and other goods. He managed to cut a £280 haul down to just over £150, a saving of £120.
The video goes on to share that Wednesday morning is the best day and time of the week to get the most out of your B&M shop. “A B&M manager told me that this is when most of the new reductions come in,” the deal hunter revealed.
A third top tip to secure bargains is simply buying for the future. Stores are more likely to offer reductions when they’re trying to shift stock, such as bargain goods in the days after Halloween and Christmas or cheap chocolates after Easter.
You might look a bit odd at the tills with piles of outdoor summer stuff at this time of year, but prices are often slashed to make room for newer products that fit the season. Sometimes, being prepared can save you money in the long run.
Find your nearest B&M using their handy store locator online. The website, just like the app, can give you previews on what’s expected in shops and what you can expect to pay.
