Ninja has launched a surprise flash sale but bargain hunters have found a way to save even more on a ‘game changing’ water bottle

With warmer weather finally incoming, many of us are swapping from travel mugs of tea or coffee to water bottles to ensure we’re fully hydrated while out and about. Hundreds of shoppers have praised Ninja’s ultimate travel bottle as offering the best of both worlds – keeping cold drinks chilled and hot drinks warm – and bargain hunters have spotted a way to snag one for a huge 71% off the usual price by stacking deals.

With payday arriving for many UK workers this weekend, brands ranging from Boden to LookFantastic, Shark to Debenhams have all launched flash sales to tempt shoppers to part with their cash on everything from summery womenswear essentials to SPF and garden furniture. Ninja joined the trend last night, launching a surprise sale offering 20% off selected bestsellers including their latest FrostVault cooler range and already-discounted 3-in-1 Food Processor when using the code PAYDAY at checkout.

But savvy shoppers have spotted a way to get the brand’s ultimate travel bottle, the Ninja Thirsti, even cheaper by stacking the sale code with an little-known additional offer. The Thirsti is usually £29.99 and with the code that goes down to £23.99 but by taking advantage of both deals the eventual cost becomes less than £9.

Money saving website TopCashback offers everyone who signs up as a new customer a free £15 cashback bonus on their first purchase, as well as a percentage back on qualifying spends across thousands of online retailers including big names like Next, Boots, Ninja and more. By stacking these two deals shoppers can get the 530ml Ninja Thirsti at a fraction of the usual price, taking it down to £8.79. There’s also a larger 700ml capacity bottle which is usually £34.99 and shoppers can snag that for £12.76.

The Thirsti comes in five different colours, ranging from classic white, grey and black options to slightly cheerier mint green and blue. As a brand, Ninja prides itself on coming up with ways to reinvent classic products and this is no different – it comes with three layers of vacuum-insulated stainless steel which keeps drinks at their perfect temperature for longer.

In tests the brand says it’s able to keep cold drinks cold for up to 24 hours, hot for up to 12 and ice for up to 2 days. Meanwhile, the BPA-free, leakproof bottle comes with a five year guarantee.

Of course, these kind of multifunction cups aren’t a new thing. We’ve previously tried and loved eco-brand Ocean Bottle’s 3-in-1 offering which can be personalised, comes in a range of colours and has three separate lids included (one for everyday sipping, one with a straw and a hot-drink friendly brew lid), making it basically the last travel drink cup you’ll ever need. What’s more, with every sale the brand funds the collection of 1,000 plastic bottles from the ocean, making it the ultimate feelgood purchase.

The key difference between this and the Ninja option, aside from the Ocean Bottle capacity being a few millilitres smaller at 500ml, is that Ninja say their technology means their bottles can specifically keep fizzy drinks fizzy for longer, retaining bubbles in carbonated drinks.

Hundreds of happy shoppers seem to agree, with the Thirsti amassing more than 400 reviews on the Ninja site since launch, with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 and 92% of purchasers saying they would recommend the bottle.

One reviewer said: “At last, a reusable bottle that can be effectively used for sparkling water. No tainted taste or degradation of gas makes this a really welcome product.”

A second added: “I bought this to replace my old insulated drinks flask. This feels a solid and quality product and stylish too. Keeps cold drinks really cold all day and doesn’t take on flavours of the last drink which is important as I mostly have water.”

A third described it as ‘the best bottle,’ adding: “My morning coffee made at 7am was still hot at 3pm. As a busy mum and nurse I’m used to having lukewarm/cold drinks so the Thirsti has been a game changer. Even better, I can come home and chuck it in the dishwasher. The bottle is also a great size for travel as its fits in the car cup holders.”

Not everyone was so keen, with one three-star reviewer saying: “Very well built, and robust. Unfortunately, whilst it is good for fizzy drinks, hot coffee became very lukewarm within 4-5 hours.”

The versatile bottle can be picked up with 20% off in Ninja’s flash sale until 11.59pm on Wednesday, April 30, taking the price below Amazon, where it’s currently sold for £30 or Robert Dyas where it’s £24.99.
