TikTok has been praising bee venom as a ‘natural alternative to Botox’ and beauty lovers say they really ‘notice the difference’ after using this moisturiser
Over the last few years, the use of injectables like fillers and Botox have skyrocketed in the beauty world, but there’s also plenty of people looking for a more natural alternative to help their skin. On TikTok, videos promoting bee venom as a “natural alternative to Botox” have been on the rise, making it one of the most currently-searched for skincare ingredients, whilst Fresha says it’s seen searches for bee venom rise by 46% year-on-year.
Bee venom is exactly that – venom taken from bees, and it’s touted as increasing blood flow and encouraging collagen and elastin to produce, creating plumper, more firm and tightened skin. One of the best-loved bee venom products is the Rodial Bee Venom Moisturiser which is heavily praised for its effectiveness on mature skin.

Whilst once a niche ingredient, TikTok’s love of an underdog beauty product has seen it rise to the mainstream and become one of the most sought-after alternatives to using injectables. Whilst it’s not actually doing the same work as something like Botox, its temporary effects can create skin that’s fuller looking and smoother, helping reduce the signs of ageing.
The Rodial Bee Venom Moisturiser combines bee venom with the plant extract P-Cell which evens skin tone and firms sagginess, whilst also boosting its protective barrier. Its product description says the bee venom works by “minimising the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by controlling facial muscular contractions and encouraging blood circulation to affected areas.”
It also contains sodium hyaluronate and brightening Vitamin C, with the Bee Venom Moisturiser leaving skin taut, glowy and radiant. It’s worth noting that these ingredients can be reactive with sensitive skin, so it’s best to ease into using the moisturiser slowly if you’re not sure how your skin will respond.
Rodial also has plenty of other products in its bee venom range, including the Bee Venom Super Serum which is currently £95 down from £195, and the Bee Venom Little Luxuries Kit which contains four miniatures of the range worth £163 but is just £68. If you’re looking for something a little more affordable, the BEE and YOU Anti Aging Natural Face Serum is £24.79, down from £26.24.
Although Rodial’s Bee Venom Moisturiser is pricey – the 15ml tub will set you back £55 – it’s been widely praised by shoppers on LookFantastic. One said: “This is hands down the best moisturiser I have ever used. Well worth every penny. Only downside is the smell. It’s not horrible but not particularly pleasant, though it does disappear as soon as applied so can certainly live with it!”
Another said it was “Really nice feel and worth splashing out on” and added: “I used a discount code from Lookfantastic and I used it for this smaller tub. It’s got a lovely texture and you can feel it working. The smell is different but it just glides on. Many people have commented already on how nice my skin looks with no make up on in the last week, and you will notice the difference!!!”
One did say: “I love the smell and how it leaves skin but don’t know if it work well on fine lines, so far haven’t seen any difference.”
