When it comes to winter dressing, practicality often doesn’t equate to style. But Debenhams shoppers have found a padded jacket they say bucks this trend by being not only good quality but that also ‘looks really smart’ and one shopper said it’s become a ‘wardrobe staple’.
The Regatta ‘Starler’ Insulated Padded Jacket is also discounted on Debenhams, costing shoppers £60, a 40% saving off the full price of £100. This navy jacket comes in sizes eight through to 14 (sizes 16, 18 and 20 in the navy are sold out online), and also comes in other colours: black, brown (although only a few sizes are left online) and red, all costing £60.
An adjustable hood adds to its versatility and a longer length means more of the wearer is protected from rain or wind. It can be washed at 30 degrees, Debenhams says online and with two zipped pockets on either side, it has plenty of space for storing any tissues, makeup items or a phone. A long zipped front means when it’s zipped up, it’s snug too.
The navy jacket is described as being ‘insulated, water repellent and on-trend’, so wearers get comfort, practicality and style. It features Regatta’s Atomlight insulation, which the brand says on its official website is not only water repellent but quick drying and breathable too, lending itself to outdoor wearing.
Another bonus is that, according to the brand, its ‘Atomlight’ Technology is compressible too, for easier storage or scrunching into a bag if needed, although this may depend on the particular garment.

On Debenhams though, the Regatta ‘Starler’ Insulated Padded Jacket has 80 reviews, and one shopper said: “Lovely coat. Very lightweight, but very warm. Good quality and good price.” Another added: “Lovely fitted jacket. Fits perfectly and looks really smart. Keeps the draughts out.”
