An iconic lunch-box staple that first launched in 1996 and was axed in 2008 has finally made a triumphant return to UK supermarkets – and they’re guaranteed to fill you with nostalgia…

If you grew up in the 90s, you’d know that no lunchbox was complete without a good old Cheesestring. The brand’s most iconic flavour (Pizza, duh) first launched in 1996 but was sadly discontinued in 2008 despite its soaring popularity.
The cheesy snack did make a surprise return in 2021 but quickly disappeared from supermarket shelves. However, it is now a permanent offering from Strings & Things. Priced at £1.75 for a pack of four, you will be able to find them in Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s stores across the UK.
“We couldn’t be more excited to announce the return of Cheestrings Pizza Flavour, which is a popular flavour of school-aged children,” said Liz McTurk of Strings & Things. “The 90s have come back in a big way, so we’ve brought back the flavour that originally hit shelves in 1996, as a favourite of adults and kids alike.”
Brits have long raved about the product on social media, with many dubbing them ‘amazing’. Back in 2021, when the Pizza Cheestring temporarily returned, one X user wrote: “I just had some pizza cheesestrings and I nearly cried from the nostalgia. I recommend you all get down to Asda now and buy some.”
Another agreed, commenting: “They’ve finally brought the pizza flavour #Cheesestrings back! I used to eat them in school. I even signed a petition to bring these back.” While a third added: “I squealed in Asda because I found Pizza Cheesestrings and they taste just like they used to!! So good!”

Earlier this month, shoppers flocked to Morrisons to try two new ice cream sticks inspired by the cult-classic dessert, Angel Delight. Available in Banana and Butterscotch flavours, the new ice cream sticks are smothered in milk chocolate and feature the same ‘fluffy, light’ whip we all grew up loving.
After discovering the treats on social media, thousands rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts. “Take my money!” one person declared. Another wrote: “Loved Angel Delight as kid, still do now. Gonna have to get these.” While a third added: “Oh. My. Good. God. BANANA ICE CREAM. Heaven on a stick!”
