‘I can’t believe the amount of water it extracts from our house on a daily basis’
With the cold and damp weather here to stay for a while longer yet one gadget that could help keep the home fresh is a dehumidifier. Currently, Amazon is running a huge range of post-Christmas deals, so now is the perfect time to pick up one of these appliances to fight off excess moisture around the house.
One standout discount is this Aribio dehumidifier, which the brand says can remove up to 12 litres of moisture from the air every day. It usually costs £129.99, but has been reduced by 31% to £89.99 in the limited Prime deal, which runs until January 11 while stocks last.
According to Aribio, its 12L/day moisture removal is suitable for rooms from 15 to 60 square metres, with the option to set a target humidity from 30% to 80%, ideal for keeping the air dry and comfortable all around the home. It’s also equipped with a filtering mesh that blocks out dust, hair, and other particles, while extracted water is stored in the 2L tank.

Along with a standard dehumidify mode, users can engage a sleep mode that reduces the noise emitted to 30dB – that’s comparable to a quiet library or rustling leaves. For laundry days, it can be switched to a clothes drying mode, a handy alternative to using the tumble dryer.
As for its size, the Aribio dehumidifier is compact, and it’s fitted with casters for easy movement between rooms. Other smart features include a 24-hour timer, a colour-coded humidity indicator, and a child lock to prevent accidental use.

Elsewhere, Argos has its own deal on this Princess 12L/day dehumidifier, which is currently down from £168 to £110. It can extract 12 litres of moisture per day, which is stored in its 2.5L water tank.
For something smaller, Dunelm sells a compact dehumidifier with 1L capacity for £25, which it says is suitable for rooms up to 20 square metres. Measuring 15.1cm in diameter and 28.1cm tall, it sits perfectly on desks or side tables, and has removable filters for easy maintenance.
As for the Aribio dehumidifier, it has received impressive reviews on Amazon. Customers have rated it 4.6 out of five from nearly 1,200 reviews, 76% of which are five stars.
One customer gave their thoughts: “I reviewed dehumidifiers for months before buying, as I wanted to ensure I bought one that served our needs. This is an incredible machine, I’m so happy with it.
“I can’t believe the amount of water it extracts from our house on a daily basis. I can rest easier now, knowing there is no dampness or moisture trying to seep into walls and furnishings, which would undoubtedly cause long term issues later on in our family home.”
A second added, as part of a longer review: “I recently purchased a dehumidifier, and I must say it has been an absolute game-changer in my daily routine, particularly when it comes to drying my laundry. This appliance has significantly reduced the drying time for clothes, making it one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.”
A third shared their experience: “I had a problem with condensation in my bathroom and after using it for a few days I can see big improvement, and it also helps all our towels dry in no time. Easy to use and quiet, I highly recommend this!”
One customer left feedback with their four-star review: “It’s doing a great job at taking moisture from the air, but I’d say it’s very loud, even on the low setting, and there’s no way I’d leave it running all night. The unit is solid though and very easy to use, a great buy for daytime running.”
Another agreed, saying: “Very effective and good quality. A little louder than I hoped, but it does the job and looks good.”
The Aribio 12L/day dehumidifier is available from Amazon.
