This Saturday marked the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony for the Royals, and the Princess of Wales picked a meaningful pair of floral pearl earrings for the occasion
Royal fans were delighted to see Kate Middleton arriving at the 2026 Trooping the Colour ceremony earlier today, with the Princess of Wales sticking to tradition in more ways than one. For the occasion, Kate arrived wearing a powder blue dress from Catherine Walker, which she paired with an oversized Philip Treacy hat and a pair of her favourite statement pearl earrings.
Not only was her outfit heavily inspired by one of Princess Diana ’s during a 1992 trip to Delhi, but Kate’s Cassandra Goad Cavolfiore Earrings have been a regular feature in her wardrobe for many important occasions over the years – the most recent of which was the historic installation of Dame Sarah Mullally as Archbishop of Canterbury earlier this year. But the Princess of Wales has also worn the earrings for Prince Louis’ christening, as well as at a party to celebrate the wedding of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall, making them one of her favourite accessories to celebrate in.
‘Easy to wear and very flattering’ M&S midi dress is selling fast as shoppers want it in every colour
White Stuff’s colourful crochet bag is ‘sturdy for summer essentials’ and under £30
Her exact earrings are made from 18ct yellow gold with pearl and diamonds, which earns them a hefty price tag of £7245, but they’ve inspired plenty of lookalikes over the years which lets you copy Kate’s sentimental jewellery for less. One of the best versions we’ve spotted are these Pearl Flower Stud Earrings which you can get from Not on the High Street for just £38.
The NOTHS earrings feature a similar design with six individual pearls placed around a seventh central pearl, giving the illusion of a flower. Of course, these budget-friendly earrings don’t feature diamonds studding each pearl, but they are made from freshwater baroque pearls and are set on sterling silver, meaning they’re still great quality.
The Pearl Flower Stud Earrings are sold via NOTHS by Xiss Jewellery, which also stocks the earrings in several different colours including cream, pink and peacock, which is a blue, green and purple colourway. However the cream pick is the closest to Princess Kate’s earrings, and are perfect for creating a timeless, stylish look.
If you prefer a chunkier, more statement look, these Jacquette Freshwater Pearl Clip On Earrings are ideal. Priced at £102, they’re clip ons which makes them suitable even if you don’t have your ears pierced, and are made from freshwater pearls.
Princess Kate has worn hers for so many different occasions that it’s obvious a pair of great pearl earrings are a timeless classic. You can wear them for formal occasions and celebrations, like weddings, black tie events and work functions, as well as being able to pair them with more casual outfits like denim and trainers to bring a more elegant flare to your outfit.
