Thief steals trainers from East End flat

A thief was caught on a Ring Doorbell preparing to steal a number of shoes from outside a home.

The clip shows someone walking up and down the stairs a number of times before they apparently spotted the camera and knocked it to the ground. Four pairs of women’s shoes are now said to be missing from the home, in Glasgow’s East End, including a Miss Sixty boot with gold coloured studs, a pair of Fred Perry white trainers, Nike running trainers and one pair of Nike high top basketball boots in white with maroon trim.

The resident told Glasgow Live: “I had no idea anyone would go for second-hand ladies shoes. Now I’ll be keeping them indoors. I never spend much money on clothes, these were all wee bargains except the Nike basketball boots which were a gift from a friend who wore them once and thought they didn’t suit her. They are all quite unusual shoes, I have fairly quirky taste. I’ll be walking around town staring at people’s feet now.”

Last year a man was left speechless over a heartwarming act by a young couple who knocked on his door moments after he returned home, which was caught on a Ring Doorbell. Paul Lyon, from St Helens, Merseyside, had got some cash out and returning home with his shopping, he’d been back just 30 seconds when there was a knock on his front door.

Not expecting visitors, Paul was surprised to find a young couple there who asked him one question. They asked if he’d dropped any money as they’d just found £180.

Paul told the Liverpool Echo: “I’d gone to the shop to get some stuff to make breakfast and decided to get some money out. As I got home, within 30 seconds I heard the doorbell so answered it and there was a young couple standing there. They asked me if I’d dropped any money and I didn’t know at the time but when I checked, I was missing the money. I thanked them and tried to give them some as a thank you but they wouldn’t accept anything.”
