Police have arrested three men who they suspect of sexually assaulting two schoolgirls in a busy shopping centre.
Officers received reports of men acting suspiciously in Seacroft in Leeds, West Yorkshire, yesterday. They found the two teenage girls and arrested two men, aged 38 and 44, on suspicion of sex offences.
Today, police detained a third man on suspicion of sexual assault, this one aged 20. All three suspects are still in custody, West Yorkshire Police have said.
Their investigations are continuing and the force has been carrying out patrols in the area following the incident. In a statement the force said: “Enquiries remain ongoing by Leeds District Safeguarding officers to support the victims and determine the full circumstances of what occurred. Reassurance patrols by uniformed officers have also been ongoing in the area.”
