The Novar Arms Hotel in Dingwall, Scotland, had planned the event months prior to give ticketholders ‘authentic psychics specialising in floor shows and readings’
A scheduled psychic evening had to be cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances” – as ticketholders fumed the clairvoyant should have “seen that coming”.
Customers were eagerly looking forward to the event at the Novar Arms in Dingwall, Scotland, which first announced it would be hosting a psychic night back in September. The pub had organised the event in partnership with Second Sight, a company that provides “authentic psychics specialising in floor shows and readings”.
The “alternative experience” set to kick off at 8.30pm on December 6, was priced at £10 each, with guests also given the option to have their own private readings costing anywhere from £15 to £25. But unanticipated circumstances meant the event was scrapped with only days to go.
The venue announced in a post on Facebook that the event would be postponed until January. It read: “Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, Second Sight have had to postpone the Psychic Night. They are planning on rescheduling the night in January – tickets can be refunded in the bar or carried over to the new dates once the arrangements have been made.”
The irony of the cancellation for this Friday was not missed by social media users. One commenter said: “Thought they would have seen that coming,”, while another added: “Not a great advert for the psychic, is it?” A third user simply said: “Ironic.”
While several people were left fuming by the message, one user claimed it was “surprisingly common” for cancellations by psychics due to “unforeseen circumstances”. Others saw the humorous side to the clairvoyant’s lack of foresight, with one calling the incident “hilarious”.
One user wrote: “Your psychic should’ve known that,” before another chimed in: “Thought they would have seen that coming.”
“Have they lost their bag of foresight,” another joked. One person said: “They write themselves don’t they.” Several people were quick to highlight the irony of the situation, as one added: “Not much of a psychic then!”
The venue has since apologised to ticketholders for the inconvenience caused and said it would rescheduled the event in January of next year as it offered refunds.
