Rita Ora appears at Met Gala 2024 in ‘controversial’ outfit

When it comes to this year’s Met Gala there was one beauty product that reigns supreme as the go-to for countless celebs – Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin Foundation, £39 here. The hydrating foundation was worn by a huge roster of A-listers including Sarah Jessica Parker, Demi Moore, Emily Ratajkowski, Lana Del Rey, Jodie Turner and Rita Ora to help get their skin red carpet ready.

The foundation is known for its buildable coverage and healthy looking glow, making it absolutely perfect for this year’s rejuvenating Garden of Time theme. It’s also known for having a 16 hour long-lasting coverage – ideal for surviving the Met Gala (and any after parties).

The Beautiful Skin Foundation doesn’t just give your coverage, either. It has a whole host of different skincare benefits too to help you improve your skin underneath and leaving it looking radiant long after you’ve taken your makeup off at the end of the day.

It contains hyaluronic acid to flood the skin with moisture , whilst rose complex targets everything from dullnes and dryness to pigmentation and dark circles, leaving you with a more even, brighter complexion. Bix’Activ works to reduce the look of oiliness , shine and visible pores, with Hyalurosmooth targeting uneven texture, dryness and dull-looking skin to leave it smoother, softer and more even.

The foundation also improves your skin’s condition over time , containing coconut extract to make it easier for your skin to retain and hold moisture as well as strengthening your skin’s barrier over time. Meanwhile, the C.T Defence helps prevent pollutants from making their way into your skin and helps the coconut extract to boost your skin’s barrier.

Whilst doing all that to help your skin underneath, the medium buildable coverage works to conceal any blemishes or uneven colouring, giving you a smooth, glowing and healthy-looking base that looks like your skin but better. The neutralised base also contains clear colour pigments and a molecule complex that stretches across all skin tones, undertones and types, making it work for everyone.

It’s received glowing reviews from shoppers, with one saying: “The best foundation ever! I have rosacea and it covers it up amazingly. I’m 72 and my friends tell me that my skin glows with health. Unbelievable.” Another wrote: “This foundation is really skin-like and it lasts all day. Great coverage and blends great. This product can make your skin too shiny so be careful if you have oily skin and when using very moisturizing moisturizer or primer.”

For a product that’s a little easier on your bank balance, some people have compared the L’Oréal Paris True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum, £11.99 here (was £14.99), to it saying they have a similar glow-boosting result. The serum also works to plump, smooth and hydrate your skin, containing an enviable list of skincare ingredients that help take care of your complexion underneath whilst leaving a natural-looking finish on your skin.

However, it has a light, semi-sheer coverage that’s not quite as buildable as the celeb-loved Charlotte Tilbury one. With such a broad range of celebs using it, it’s safe to say we’ll be stocking up on the CT foundation ASAP!
