Santander has detailed which customers will receive the free cash
Santander has revealed exactly who will receive a free £200 in 2026. The global banking giant has explained that eligible customers will bag the cash within 90 days after taking specific steps.
Santander has sent emails to those who bank with Santander but don’t use them for their main current account. Emails read: “It’s never been easier to move your income, Direct Debits, and standing orders from your old bank to us. Plus, when you get a current account with us, you can make use of our award-winning Mobile Banking app.”
Santander confirmed it will “transfer £200 into your eligible account within 90 days of your request to switch when you use the Current Account Switch Service [CASS].” To qualify for the windfall, banking customers must submit a switch request to an eligible current account before the promotion ends.
Within 60 days of making the initial application, customers must also complete the full switch via CASS, maintain two active household Direct Debits on the account, and deposit at least £1,500. Household Direct Debits include council tax bills, mobile and home phone bills, broadband and paid-for TV packages, gas and electric bills, and water bills, according to Santander.
Anyone who held a current account with Santander on January 1, 2025, or has previously claimed a Santander switcher incentive, won’t qualify for the switching bonus. The offer may be withdrawn at any time, with terms and conditions applying.
The bonus is up for grabs with the Everyday Current Account, Santander Edge current account, Santander Edge Up current account, Santander Edge Explorer current account and Private Current Account. However, Santander has warned that it could withdraw this offer at any time.
