With Black Friday looming, retailers are beginning to launch impressive sales on a wide range of items. For those in the market for new tech like a smartphone, it’s an excellent time to find bargains on devices as an unlikely retailer stocks a saving for shoppers.

Debenhams is selling the Samsung Galaxy A05 64GB for just £79.99. It usually costs £109, so that’s a saving of 27%, but it’s only for a limited time.

The Galaxy A05’s highlight is its 6.7-inch screen, which is surprisingly large for a budget smartphone and outsizes many significantly more expensive models. It’s also equipped with a 50MP rear camera, and 64GB of internal storage.

The Galaxy A05 phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which the brand says delivers ‘long-lasting use’. With typical smartphone usage, that usually means around 10–12 hours.

Other features of the Android phone include a 13MP front camera, dual SIM capability, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and facial recognition to keep the device secure. Another slightly pricier option is the Honor 400 Smart 128GB in velvet black, which Currys is selling for £119.99 down from £149.99.

The phone comes in the colour black and has a 6.7 inch screen display, making it ideal for shoppers to have everything they need in one place.

This device is said to be ideal for budding photographers thanks to dual rear cameras that the brand says can capture up to 108MP. It also has a range of smart AI-powered features, like an AI Eraser for removing elements from photos, plus a large 6,500mAh battery.

Argos is selling the Samsung Galaxy A16 128GB smartphone for £119.99, down from £139.99. Within its slim 7.9mm chassis, it packs a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, dual SIM capability, four cameras, including a 50MP rear camera, and 128GB of internal storage.

However, many Debenhams shoppers are happy with the Samsung Galaxy A05. One customer said: “I’ve bought lots of phones, but this one was the best one yet.”

Another added: “Excellent brand for the price, and quality is great.” Another customer praised its ease of use: “Ordered this for my 86-year-old mum.

“Her first smartphone was a Google one, which seemed slow and complicated. This Samsung phone is so much better. She is now on Facebook and learning new skills every day.”

One did feel the battery fell short, saying: “Good phone, but it doesn’t hold its charge for very long.” With only a few reviews for the phone on Debenhams.

On Trustpilot, one customer who bought a Samsung product said: “Simple to use and set up, nice phone.”
