Roman shoppers hail ‘lovely’ sale top ‘great for any occasion’ as it drops to £25

A floral top from fashion favourite Roman has caught the eyes of shoppers for not only its spring-ready pattern but also its price, which has been dropped in the brand’s sale by £10. The Green Textured Floral Print Notch Neck Top usually retails at £35 but in Roman’s currently discounts, it’s now £25.

Made from jersey fabric, the top is soft on the skin and, with 5% elastane in its makeup, it has a bit of stretch to make it a comfortable option for everyday wear. Decorated in a beautiful floral puff print, the shirt has a relaxed style with its notch neck and 3/4 sleeves, which have a button fastenings on either side to roll up and hold the sleeves if needed.

While the teal, cream and black floral print is gorgeous – and apt for the upcoming season – the shirt comes in a range of other patterns (all 22 differing in sale prices) ranging from animal print to abstract prints. These come in sizes 10 to 20 and measures at approximately 70cm, which may not be best suited to those who need a more petite or tall fit.

Shoppers who’d prefer a wider range of sizes, Next is a good place to look. Its Love & Roses Blue Animal Petite Long Sleeve Button Through Shirt, £39, comes in both regular and petite and ranges in size from six to 20.

Nobody’s Child has also just launched its latest collaboration with Louise Thompson, its ‘Petite Edit’, which has been designed for women who are 5’3” and under. For example, its Blue Striped Shirred Top, £69, measures at 54cm and comes in a gorgeous blue hue that screams spring.

Although despite this somewhat limited range of sizing, the Roman shirt has received high praise from shoppers who have awarded it an overall star rating of 4.8, with one review reading: “Lovely top. I’ve worn it once and had three compliments. I’ve bought red one as well.”

Another raved: “Love the teal blue colour and contrasting pattern of this soft easy to wear fabric. Nice length and like the button back sleeves and collarless neckline.”

One shopper noted how it’s easy to maintain and is relatively ‘crease free’, which is ideal for holidays and storing: “Beautiful colour and great for holidays as this was crease free when I took it out of my case. Easy and comfortable to wear, smart/casual.” Echoing this, someone else remarked: “Lovely comfy fit. Stretchy material. Great colours. Bonus is…..No need to iron!!”

“Another lovely comfortable top great for any occasion,” added one shopper.

With high ratings from almost all reviews, the only reason one Roman fan deducted a star was that the colouring of the top didn’t match their expectations. They said: “An easy to wear top slightly different colour then it appears on here. Thought it was going to be Turquoise. Hence the 4 stars but it’s more a green. But I still love it.”
