Armed police have responded to a dog attack in which an American Bulldog was said to have bitten a woman in a quiet neighbourhood. Police and paramedics responded to a call of a suspected dog attack on Marlborough Street in Spotland, Rochdale, on Sunday morning.

Witnesses reported seeing armed officers descending on the scene in several vehicles alongside paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service at around 11.41am, before Greater Manchester Police confirmed a dog attack incident had taken place. GMP confirmed in a brief statement released this afternoon that an American Bulldog was seized after it bit a woman.

The service is yet to release any further details on the incident, but confirmed she is believed to have sustained minor injuries, Manchester Evening News reports. The Mirror has contacted GMP for an update.
