Rightmove says home-hunters are being drawn to properties with ‘something genuinely different about them’
A four-bedroom home in Lincolnshire with its own cinema room and two acres of land is the most viewed property of 2026 so far, according to Rightmove.
The detached property is split over three floors and is described as being in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds. It is also surprisingly not the most expensive, with offers in excess of £535,000.
But you will need deeper pockets to afford the next most-viewed home, with a £20million gothic mansion in Newcastle with lodges and former gymnasium coming in second place.
The priciest home on the list, Jesmond Towers, dates back to the early 1800s and sits within almost six acres of grounds in the sought-after Jesmond Dene Conservation Area.
The estate includes two detached lodges, landscaped gardens and a Grade II listed main house. In third spot is a Victorian villa with a boutique-style bedroom and rooftop bathtub in Manchester, currently on the market for £1,444,000.
This seven-bedroom Victorian villa offers nearly 5,000 sq ft of living space, a cinema room and a detached coach house, complete with a rooftop hot tub terrace.
Rightmove property expert Colleen Babcock said: “Looking across this year’s most-viewed homes, it’s clear that home-hunters are often drawn to properties with something genuinely different about them.
“While some of the homes on the list carry multi-million-pound price tags, others are surprisingly affordable, showing that unique architecture, fascinating history, standout interiors or an unusual feature can generate just as much interest as luxury.”
Meanwhile, house-hunters have also been inspired by a Corfu property that featured on BBC One’s Amanda and Alan’s Greek Job, which was in fourth place. The restored home, which has a guide price of €530,000, combines traditional stone floors and exposed beams with modern interiors.
The fifth most-viewed home is a 15th-century Scottish castle that has links to to Robert the Bruce in Ayrshire, who was king of Scotland from 1306 to 1329. Listed for £900,000, the fortified tower house features original spiral staircases, vaulted rooms and panoramic views across the Firth of Clyde.
Next is a new-build lakeside home on the shores of Lake Windermere, which could be yours for £8,500,000. The six-bedroom property features a private lake frontage, two boathouses and its own jetty, alongside a cinema room, games room and entertaining spaces.
The most-affordable property on the list is in seventh spot. Designed in the 1960s for novelist R.F. Delderfield, the circular thatched cottage in Sidmouth enjoys dramatic cliff-top views over the Jurassic Coast. It comes with a guide price of £200,000.
Originally constructed in 1820 as the Orangery for Woodfold Hall, the eight-most viewed home is located in Lancashire and features stunning glazed walls and two acres of gardens, with a guide price of £1,500,00.
Blacksmiths Cottage is a three-bedroom detached home surrounded by Lincolnshire countryside. It is described as offering a peaceful rural setting and is ninth on the list with an asking price of £340,000.
Finally, a five-bedroom detached home in Ilford that features a series of striking reception rooms and contemporary design touches finishes the most-viewed properties in tenth place with a guide price of £750,000.
