One deals retailer has offered the chance for tech fans to get it for £5 in a rare, but not definite, raffle deal
Apple’s Vision Pro headset is undeniably impressive, putting users’ favourite apps and tech at their fingertips… literally. There’s no denying the futuristic headset is game-changing but it’s £3,499 is a tough price to swallow. Until now, as a rare deal could see a few lucky shoppers get it for a ridiculously cheaper price.
When we said cheap we meant it as it drops to only £5, all thanks to an eye-watering deal from Wowcher. Eager shoppers can now pay to buy tickets to its ‘luck-of-the-draw’ raffle. Known for its £99 Mystery Holiday deals – where you pay to jet off to an unknown destination – it’s a chance for tech fans to try their luck at getting their hands on Apple’s high-tech display.
Wowchers draw may be a no-brainer for those who can’t justify the £3,499 price at Apple – although, shoppers aren’t guaranteed to walk home with the device. In the raffle-style deal, you’ll pay £5 to get 10 entries into the deal, but only one shopper will win the device, so it’s certainly not as generous as the front page of the deal may seem.

I tried Apple’s $3,500 Vision Pro glasses and it’s not the experience I was expecting
Apple itself may cringe at the virtual reality name and instead has branded it as a “Spatial Computing” device as it immerses users in their favourite tech – from social media apps, to surrounding yourself with internet search results or streaming your favourite film – while showing your real surroundings at the same time.
The Apple Vision Pro allows you to navigate and control spatial experiences with your eyes, hands and voice. Simply look at an element, tap your fingers together to select, and use the virtual keyboard or dictation to type. It has everything rival devices (uhm…Meta) have and more as it merges your real surroundings – like your living room – with your chosen virtual apps.
Its merge of sophisticated technology could be an answer to its extremely bank-breaking price, and having tried it out for himself, our Tech Editor Dave Snelling shares how the innovative goggles go above and beyond your standard headset. As he explains how the Vision Pro switched his view on headsets he’d often brand as being ‘clunky’, he said: “Having tested plenty of virtual reality headsets in the past the experience definitely hasn’t felt like the future. Yes, clever technology that offers a brief wow moment at family gatherings when guests try it for the first time. This isn’t just another VR headset.
“It’s totally unique and could finally be the start of a virtual reality revolution. Firstly, the design and build quality is way ahead of the competition and there’s no question that this is the best-looking and most fashionable headset on the market.
“Where things get clever is the Vision Pro’s ability to mix the real and virtual worlds together – that’s what makes it so different from its rivals. Cameras dotted all over the headset allow you to see everything going on around you so you never feel isolated or claustrophobic.”
The deal closes in a few weeks, at 11:59 August 25 and the raffle will then take place on August 28, in the same way it’s £99 Mystery Holiday deals. It’s here where the one lucky shopper will be notified.
One thing shoppers need to be wary of with this deal is ensuring they get the Apple Vision Pro set up to them before it’s posted. Users’ heads need to be measured for the right Light Seal and Headband sizes, as well as the choice of optical inserts to the lenses if you use glasses.
Those who’d prefer to definitely get their hands on the Vision Pro can buy it at the Apple Store, here. Alternatively gaming fans may be more swayed for the Meta Quest 3 VR headset.
