The Apple Watch Series 10 has been cut by £100 at Argos, Currys, and Very, it’s convinced me to ditch my slow SE model for it.
Upgrading to the latest Apple Watch or one of Google and Samsung’s alternatives comes at a hefty cost, with the average piece of wearable GPS tech costing around £400 – until now. A rare Apple sale has plummeted the price of the newest Series 10 device by £100.
I’ve been an avid Apple Watch wearer since getting my first SE model back in 2020 but the dwindling battery life has swayed me into looking at newer models on sale. The GPS tracking, Bluetooth, and connectivity still works like it did the day I got it, but it now doesn’t go half a day without need to be popped on charge – leading me to looking at the newest Apple Watch Series 10.
Retailers Currys and Very have cut the price of Apple’s Series 10 as the 42mm model drops from an original £399 to £299. And for Prime shoppers looking for a speedier delivery, the bigger 46mm Watch 10 is now reduced to £329, from a previous £429 at Amazon.

Also an option for shoppers is Sky Mobile, as it splits the price up into what feels like more affordable payments. Plus, shoppers don’t have to worry about forking out hundreds at once.
Shoppers can choose to pay in full here if they’d like or split it across a 12, 24, or 26 month plan – with data costs on top. Personally, this is one of my added perks, as a huge downside to Apple Watches (and a lot of products from the brand) is price.

For shoppers looking to split the cost of an Apple Watch, Sky is offering a pay-monthly deal. Apple’s newest Series 10 Watch usually costs more than £350, or now currently £299 in various retailer sales but not everyone can fork out that much at once.
Sky offers a £13 per month price.
A boosted battery is one of the biggest ‘must-haves’ for my next smartwatch purchase, which is what makes the newest Series 10 model a good option. Said to last “all-day” the battery inside this wearable can last up to 18 hours and up to 36 hours in Low Power Mode. Plus, its lithium-ion battery means it can be supported by ‘fast charging’ accessories – which helps get it up to 80% charge in only 30 minutes.
Looking elsewhere, the cheaper Fitbit Sense 2 is another model recommended for its lasting battery life. Now available at EE for £219, it has stress, fitness, heart rate and even menstrual cycle tracking. The only thing from holding me back with this Fitbit model is its lack of compatibility with iPhone to make calls, something I frequently use my Apple Watch for.
Another on my list is the Garmin Forerunner, which certainly trumps them all with the cheapest price of £130. Now available to buy at Amazon, this is recommended for runners. Another huge perk to this one is its compatibility with iOS and Android, something even the newest Series 10 from Apple could never do.
As someone who has worn their older SE watch from the year it was released in 2020, I do know that the exact battery time is dependant on the amount of exercise and activity tracked. The more intense the workout, with ongoing playlists, heart rate tracking, health notifications, and GPS tapped on for making calls, the quicker the battery will run out.
A small downside noted by Apple Watch users is the sync up to iPhones, if you opt for an LTE model then its lack of GPS means it’s wholly reliant on having an iPhone in your pocket for the features to work, but this does depend on the model you buy.
But, it’s safe to say anything would be the current three-hour average rate my old SE model is running at. The newer Watch Series 10 also comes with a bigger display, a thinner design, the usual activity tracker rings, and can send health and sleep data all day and night (if that’s a setting you’d like to have on).
Plus, it’s considered pretty sturdy, with a crack-resistant and dust-resistant setting, and 50m water resistance. If those aren’t enough, then the more expensive Apple Watch Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra would be better suited to rugged outdoor activities.
