Disgraced prison officer Linda De Sousa Abreu, who has today been sentenced for having sex with an inmate in a cell, previously featured on Channel 4’s swingers show

A married prison officer was filmed poking fun at her ankle tag after pleading guilty to having sex with an inmate.

Linda De Sousa Abreu, 30, has today been jailed for 15 months after pleading guilty to misconduct in a public office at Isleworth Crown Court in July. The month prior, a video was shared on social media showing a female prison officer at HMP Wandsworth, in south London, having sex with a male prisoner in a cell.

The shocking X-rated clip quickly went viral online and captured the woman, clad in uniform, engaging in sex acts with the criminal while his cellmate filmed it on a mobile phone in the Category B clink. The fellow inmate, who appeared to be smoking while recording, said: “Guys, we’ve made history, this is what I’m telling you.”

Colleagues could be heard on the officer’s radio, left on a side table. At one point in the video, someone appeared to try to come into the cell, and the man filming said: “Give me a minute, one second.” The prisoner continued to film his friend and then panned the camera around and grinned: “This is how we roll in Wandsworth.”

The footage prompted a police investigation, and De Sousa Abreu was later charged with misconduct. In July, De Sousa Abreu, who holds a Portuguese passport, pleaded guilty and was granted conditional bail. She was suspended from work.

Tetteh Turkson, of the Crown Prosecution Service, said: “This was a shocking breach of the public’s trust. De Sousa was clearly an enthusiastic participant who wrongly thought she would avoid responsibility. The CPS recognises there is no excuse for any prison officer who conducts themselves in such a manner, and we will never hesitate to prosecute those who abuse their position of power.”

It later emerged De Sousa Abreu had appeared on Channel 4 swingers show Open House: The Great Sex Experiment, alongside her MMA fighter husband. The programme followed swinger couples to a luxury retreat to find out if having open relationships and sex with other people could strengthen their bond.

Introducing herself on the show, De Sousa Abreu said: “Monogamy is a social construct that I think needs to be dismantled. Opening up our relationship has allowed us to form a deeper connection with each other.”

Her sister told Mail Online: “She was on a Channel Four programme called Open House. I never saw it. It’s not the sort of thing I’d watch with my little sister in. I only found out that she worked for the prison service in January. That’s when I spoke to her and said do not mix your lifestyle with work. Don’t be stupid, don’t do stupid things.”

In August, a close pal, called Hayley, spoke out to claim De Sousa Abreu was actually being blackmailed and feared she had no choice but to take part, after inmates found her OnlyFans account, her home address and knew her husband’s name. She told the Mail: “There’s a lot more to this story than people think.

“Some of the prisoners had got hold of Linda’s personal details. They knew her address, her husband’s name and that she had an OnlyFans account. She was put under a lot of pressure and there was a lot of coercion involved. Linda was going through a very hard time at work because of all this.”

Hayley said De Sousa Abreu was “full of remorse” and “absolutely devastated”. She added: “People are trying to make out that Linda is some kind of sex monster but that’s not the case at all. She is a very kind and caring person who has made a terrible mistake. We all get things wrong in life and people shouldn’t be so quick to judge her.”

But in September, Abreu was slammed for mocking her punishment after pals filmed her putting her foot on the table of a daytime club, Neverland London, in Fulham. She lifted her dress up and stroked her tag as she said: “Very mindful, very cutesy, very demure.” The phrase, coined by TikTok creator Joolie Lebron, was a viral trend.

At the time, a source said: “It’s disgusting she has no shame. She is laughing her head off and looks happy she has a tag to show off. She disgraced herself in a public office and now she has no care whatsoever for the punishment. Clearly if she thinks her ankle tag is like a piece of jewellery, she didn’t think it was a big deal.”
