Princess Kate recalled the way her daughter Princess Charlotte, eight, made her morning and put a big smile on her face by showcasing one of her secret talents at home
The Princess of Wales revealed the way her daughter Princess Charlotte once made her day in the most unexpected way.
Princess Charlotte, who turns nine next week, has a very close bond with her mum. And she put a big smile on Kate’s face in the sweetest way. Kate recalled the moment during a visit to Vsi Razom Community Hub in Bracknell in October last year.
She was there to learn about the organisation’s work to support Ukrainian refugees, and during her stay got to chatting to an eight-year-old girl named Liza.
Crouching down to Liza’s eye level, the Princess said, “I heard my daughter singing this morning and it’s a song called ‘Shine Jesus Shine’ and that made me very happy this morning.”
Liza then responded excitedly to the song’s title, prompting Kate to ask, “Do you know that song? Does it have the same tune? I heard that this morning and it made me very happy.”
It comes after Prince William revealed that mornings in the Wales household typically start with Prince George and Princess Charlotte arguing over what music to listen to.
Charlotte and her 10-year-old sibling have both inherited a love for music, their father explained. But their tastes are hugely different; while Charlotte often likes to hear Waka Waka by Shakira in the morning, George enjoys AC/DC .
“What I’ve been amazed by is how much my children already have inherited my family’s love of music. Most mornings there’s a massive fight between Charlotte and Prince George as to what song is played,” Prince William, 41, said.
“And I have to, now, basically prioritise that one day someone does this one and another day it’s someone else’s turn. So, George gets his go, then Charlotte gets her go. Such is the clamour for the music.”
But the future king stressed his children’s passion for music has made him proud. He said he likes to watch all three children “dancing, messing around and singing” to whatever tunes they select.
Princess Kate, meanwhile, previously shared what George, Charlotte, and Louis like to eat for breakfast before they head off for a day of learning at Lambrook. When Kate visited Stockwell Gardens Nursery and Pre-school, she told staff how her children like to start their day.
School manager Michelle Samuels later revealed that Kate had told her the royal siblings enjoy a simple breakfast of cereal and apples. She told today.com , “she mentioned to three of the children that her own children enjoy apples and cereal in the morning, which sparked a conversation with the children about their own preference of fruits”.
