Prince Harry is lining up a huge move to help end his feud with King Charles, sources claim, with the Duke of Sussex said to be ‘desperate’ to see his father at the Invictus Games
Prince Harry is set to extend a major ‘olive branch’ to his father King Charles, it is claimed.
The Duke of Sussex – who has spent only a few minutes alone with his dad since stepping back as a working royal in 2020 – is said to be offering him a special role at the Invictus Games when it returns to the UK next year.
It means the father and son could appear on stage together at the opening ceremony at the NEC in Birmingham next June, marking a significant thawing in their relationship after years of near-silence.
The move would be a “dream” for the 41-year-old were it to happen, it is claimed, after he said last year that he “would love reconciliation” with his family.

One insider told The Sun: “Prince Harry desperately wants Charles at Invictus – and he wants him to open the games alongside him.
“Harry wants it to happen both for the games, and for their relationship. It’s his dream to have his father by his side.”
The Mirror has approached Buckingham Palace, the Duke of Sussex and the Invictus Games for comment.
Prince Harry is set to fly back to London from California for the opening of his High Court privacy claim later this month, with the case scheduled to open on January 19 – but is not expected to meet his father while staying in Britain.
In a major interview with the BBC following a failed legal appeal for police protection last year, Harry claimed the King was refusing to speak to him “because of this security stuff”, adding that he seemed to fear any communication could be used in the legal case or become public.
But despite this, Harry insisted he “would love reconciliation with my family”, telling the BBC’s Nada Tawfik: There’s no point continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
He added that until he has assurances over his security, he cannot take his wife Meghan or children Archie and Lilibet to his home country, saying: “It is impossible… I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”
The Invictus Games for wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans was launched by Prince Harry in 2014, with inaugural competition taking place in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park later that year.
