Primark’s brand new suncare range caught my eye, but does their Lightweight Daily Face SPF compare to the popular La Roche Posay Invisible Fluid Suncream? I found out

If, like me, SPF is a must-have in your skincare routine and La Roche Posay’s Invisible Fluid Suncream SPF50+ is your usual go-to, then I have the best next beauty buy for you.

When browsing the aisles of Primark’s beauty section, I stumbled upon their extensive suncare range, which includes everything from a makeup primer and a mattifying daily cream to a swipe-and-go face stick and a nourishing lip balm, all offering 15 to 50 SPF protection and all extremely affordable, with prices ranging from £1.50 to £5.

With a heatwave just around the corner and a slew of summer holidays booked, there’s no better time to test out a new SPF, especially if it means saving a few pennies along the way.

I’m a huge fan of La Roche Posay’s Invisible Fluid Suncream, but their SPF often retails for £21. Only sometimes am I lucky enough to catch it in a Boots £10 Tuesday sale or a random money off event.

So as part of my week-long SPF experiment, I swapped my La Roche Posay SPF 50 for Primark’s Lightweight Daily Face SPF 50+, which promises to offer the same “ultra-lightweight” formula and “glow finish”.

La Roche Posay Invisible Fluid Suncream – key benefits

  • Formulated for sensitive skin types
  • Invisible, non-greasy finish
  • Incredibly lightweight and ideal for daily use

Primark’s Lightweight Daily Face SPF – key benefits

  • Ultra Lightweight
  • Minimal white cast
  • Dewy glow finish

So does Primark’s Lightweight Daily Face SPF live up?

You’ll have to work for the benefits of the Primark SPF, most notably the minimal white cast. The cream is pretty thick and at first glance I didn’t think it could possibly be lightweight, but after taking some time to massage it into my skin, not only did I realise a little went a long way, but you will finally achieve a no-white-cast finish, and an enviable glow.

A huge plus is that the Primark SPF doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy, a huge selling point of the La Roche Posay fluid, and gives a better glow than the SPF fluid.

In my opinion, Primark’s Daily Face SPF is a decent competitor for La Roche Posay’s Invisible Fluid Suncream. It’s important to note that it isn’t formulated with sensitive skin in mind and doesn’t have the same dermatologist backing as La Roche Posay does.

But if your main concern is finding a lightweight SPF that leaves your skin with a dewy glow, then Primark’s Daily Face SPF is a great alternative and probably the most affordable one you’ll find on the market. You can find Primark’s Lightweight Daily Face SPF in stores.
