The budget retailer is selling a £10 item that looks similar to a pricier alternative

The Christmas countdown has begun, leaving shoppers with just a few weeks to purchase presents ahead of December 25. For jewellery lovers, Primark’s £10 Jewellery Stand With Mirror could make the perfect gift.

Described as ‘a glass jewellery stand with mirror and metallic detailing,’ the gold-coloured mirror would look beautiful displayed on a dressing table. It also arguably resembles a pricier alternative. Primark’s £10 offering could be compared to Oliver Bonas’s Gold & Glass Cream Boucle Dressing Table Mirror. However, the Primark version is significantly cheaper than the Oliver Bonas rival.

The Oliver Bonas mirror costs £70 at full price, or £52.50 as part of a Black Friday promotion that’s currently running on the website. As such, Primark’s version saves shoppers at least £40. That said, the mirrors are not identical.

The Primark version is made from metal and wood, whereas the Oliver Bonas version is made from brass, glass, and polyester. While Primark has opted for a pink interior, the Oliver Bonas mirror has a grey boucle interior that adds an elegant touch to the overall look.

The product description for the Oliver Bonas mirror states: “Round dressing table mirror with a clear glass base, lined with a luxurious cream boucle fabric and semicircle drawer tabs. With one large open drawer for storing keepsake jewellery pieces and a second, smaller drawer lined with a ring holder strip, this elegant vanity mirror makes a stylish and functional addition to your bedroom décor.”

There could also be a difference in size, as the dimensions of the Primark mirror are not listed. The Oliver Bonas mirror measures 38cm in height and 30cm in depth.

Accordingly, both options could impress jewellery fans looking for presents or buying for themselves, and some shoppers may prefer the Oliver Bonas mirror to the cheaper version – but the Primark mirror could be the more tempting choice for shoppers on a budget.

For Primark shoppers looking for something different, the retailer stocks a £9 Bow Detail Jewellery Stand. The description states: “Keep your accessories beautifully organised with this bow detail jewellery stand. Crafted with a gold-toned metallic frame, it features a twisted rope-style design along the sides and top for a touch of elegance.

“The top bar is fitted with hooks, while two additional horizontal bars at different heights provide space for necklaces, bracelets, or earrings. A clear glass box forms the base, perfect for storing rings or smaller treasures, and is finished with a raised bow detail for added charm. Both decorative and practical, this stand makes an ideal dressing table piece for displaying and organising your favourite jewellery.”

Alternatively, Oliver Bonas stocks a £38 Wiggle Gold Metal Jewellery Stand. The product description states: “Functional jewellery stand with a sleek scalloped base and wavy storage hooks to store your longer pieces.”
