Primark has launched a new bookish collection perfect for book lovers, including a pale blue ‘Book Club’ cap for just £4.50 – a budget-friendly alternative to Anthropologie’s £32 literary cap

Book lovers are thrilled at the moment, as it’s finally fashionable to outwardly announce that you love books.

Reading is no longer negatively associated with being geeky – and rightly so! In fact, more and more items are being designed with slogans such as ‘Ask me what I am reading’ and ‘Hot girls read books,’ as the literary world becomes ever-more accessible and cool.

That’s why Primark has made a trendy £4.50 accessory that’s bound to sell out quickly, as it’s very similar to a £32 Anthropologie version that has tongues wagging in the bookish world. It’s ideal, as you don’t have to spend too much to look fantastic while lying around on a sunbed by the pool or rocking a cute, casual outfit.

And the cap isn’t the only book-related item that Primark has launched this summer – there are other fashionable items, too.

“New arrivals perfect for book lovers in Primark,” @magicalfindsuk captioned the video they’d filmed showcasing the literary-themed products.

First on display was a striped yellow-and-burgundy long-sleeved top emblazoned with ‘New York Book Lovers Club’ on the reverse, which would pair beautifully with wide-leg jeans once the temperature drops.

One person enquired: “Do you know what it’s made of? The shirt is so so cute”. The Instagrammer confirmed it’s 100% cotton, having “checked the website”.

Another piece that’s captured attention is the £4.50 cap, rendered in pale blue and emblazoned with ‘Book Club’.

The Primark website states: “Top off casual outfits with this Book Club baseball cap. Designed in blue with a curved peak, panelled crown, stitched eyelets, top button and red embroidered Book Club slogan, it’s an easy accessory for everyday styling.

“Wear it with T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies or casual jackets for weekend plans, holidays or laid-back days out. The classic cap shape makes it simple to pair with denim, joggers or relaxed everyday layers”.

It’s an ideal alternative to the pink cap from Anthropologie, which reads Books>People’ – a sentiment that plenty of bookworms will relate to.

Both caps are crafted from 100% cotton, so if you’re after a budget-friendly alternative, you’re not sacrificing quality with the Primark option. It simply comes down to which design appeals to you more.

Hundreds of TikTok users have posted about the literary-themed items, and there are several others in the range.

However, shoppers are grumbling that they’re struggling to find them either in stores or online, so if you fancy the bookish pieces, you’ll need to act fast.

Beneath one of the videos, someone wrote: “HOW was I in Primark literally last week, and they had none of these! And I live in a country that doesn’t have Primark, so I can’t even go again”.

Another said: “I cannot be spending more money at Primark, but I’ll have to have a look today too!!”

Others circulated rumours that Primark are “launching two ACOTAR T-shirts soon”. But this remains unconfirmed, though fans of the Sarah J. Maas universe will be keeping their fingers firmly crossed that it’s genuine!
