Shoppers are wondering ‘where the rest of it is’ as the unusally shaped tree goes on sale ahead of December

Many people have been left baffled after spotting an unusually shaped Christmas tree on sale online. Argos is selling a brand-new 8ft Umbrella Christmas Tree for £157.

The tree was £175, but a newly added 10% discount means shoppers can save some extra cash. The tree stands at 8ft tall and weighs 8kg. It comes with hinged branches and has as many as 888 tips.

In the product description, Argos wrote: “Offering a special style of tree, the Umbrella Tree is a different option to the traditional shape Christmas tree. Decorate from the top with hanging decorations down with over 800 tree tips and a sturdy metal base to ensure stability. Suitable for indoor use only.”

In the questions and answers section of the product listing on Argos’ website, some people have expressed their confusion. One person asked: “Where is the rest of it? You are joking, right?” Another simple put: “Just why?”

On popular Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, one shopper called Amy uploaded a screenshot of the Christmas tree. In the caption she wrote: “Bargain” followed by a cry-laughing emoji and a face-palm emoji.

More people headed to the comment section to share their thoughts on the unusually shaped festive product. Martina asked: “What is that?” Karen also quizzed: “Wat in hell is that supposed to be?”

Eve added: “Where’s the rest of it?” Michaela said: “Omg what on earth is this?” Rae joked that the tree looks more like a “palm tree”.

However, Sian argued a way the umbrella Christmas tree could come in handy. “I feel like this is something I need to keep my kids and cats off the decorations,” she said.

Angharad also explained another way the tree could be used. “My hairdresser has an umbrella tree above her hair wash area and it’s actually stunning. She dangles bauble from it and it really looks lovely. So there is a place for it,” she replied.
