Kipling’s latest Back-to-School collection offers plenty of colourful options to brighten up the new term

With the summer holidays fast approaching for many children across the UK, it might seem a little early to be thinking about September. But getting ahead of the back-to-school shop can save the last-minute scramble – and a fun new backpack or lunch bag is a great way to get kids excited about heading back to the classroom.

Just in time for the school break, Kipling, known for its fun bags and signature monkey mascot, has unveiled its new Back-to-School collection. The range is packed with colourful bags, pencil cases and accessories for every age, with prices starting from £5.

The school bag is arguably the most important purchase, helping children carry everything they need for the day in comfort. Kipling’s larger backpacks are ideal for older children who need space for books, PE kit and even a laptop, with many styles featuring padded laptop compartments and multiple pockets to keep belongings organised.

Plus, the rucksacks have removable, adjustable shoulder straps for comfort and a water-repellent finish. They’re roomy too, with a zipped main compartment and an inside pocket.

Meanwhile, fans of the little yellow troublemakers will love the Minions collection, with backpacks priced at £117 for the large version and £107 for the smaller style. Meanwhile, those after something simpler can opt for the medium drawstring bag (£29), available in 20 different colours, from soft pink to bold red.

Kipling’s SS26 range focuses on durability, functionality and style that lasts beyond one school year, designed to be used, loved and carried for years.

It’s not just bags on offer, either. Kipling’s pencil cases (from £24) come in 25 vibrant colours and playful prints, each finished with the brand’s iconic logo.

For anyone wanting to personalise their school gear, there are plenty of accessories too. Collectable zipper pullers start from £5 and feature everything from sharks to starfish. And, of course, no Kipling collection would be complete without the brand’s famous monkey keychains, with prices starting from £24 for one of the cheeky companions.

Beyond Kipling, M&S has also launched a brilliant range of school bags this year, with prices starting from a budget-friendly £10. The collection features a host of crowd-pleasing characters and franchises, including Minecraft and Bluey, as well as Paddington Bear and Disney’s Frozen.

Otherwise, Ryman has some cute pencil cases, too. That includes this Legami Pencil Case (£12.99), featuring an interior mesh compartment, a pen holder pocket, a zip closure, and a sweet panda motif.

Back to Kipling, the Back-to-School collection is so new that there aren’t any customer reviews yet. But the brand has received lots of great feedback on Trustpilot, with one shopper saying: “Great quality and unique design, I am very happy with my new backpack.”

They added: “It looks stylish too. I had never had any bags from Kipling before, but I was quite impressed with the quality. It’s not expensive, so it’s absolutely great for the price. Also, I am surprised how much I enjoy a fluffy monkey keyring, it’s a really fun detail.”

Meanwhile, another said: ” I love the colour of my bag, and it is super light. It has so many pockets, which is nice for everyday use. It has adjustable straps and two zip pockets at the front.”

However, some customers have experienced difficulties with delivery: “Excellent suitcases but poor service. Ordered two matching suitcases, but only one arrived, which was disappointing.”

On a brighter note, this happy Kipling shopper piped up: “Ordered a bag from Kipling and the number of zipped pockets on this bag is great.

“I’ve never bought a bag this expensive, and its quality is amazing, and I love the Monkey key ring and the zip tab design, and I’m so happy with it. Thank you.”
