A Suzuki Vitara owner clocked up more than 436,000 miles in less than a decade
The owner of a Suzuki car reportedly racked up more than 436,000 miles in under a decade before part-exchanging it for a newer version of the same model.
The Japanese carmaker revealed that a customer of dealer Hilton Suzuki Bedford had achieved a remarkable 436,500 miles in his Vitara SZ-T fitted with a 1.6-litre petrol engine – all in less than 10 years.
Bought brand new in 2017, the owner had the vehicle serviced at the dealership every few months and used it every single day, including numerous long-distance journeys across Europe. He stated it had proved utterly reliable throughout that period and was still running its original engine, gearbox and exhaust system.
The dealership confirmed that the Vitara continued to perform flawlessly, with no oil leaks detected, despite the extraordinary mileage. The only components requiring routine replacement were standard wear and tear items such as brake pads and approximately 15 sets of tyres, along with just one driveshaft rubber boot.
A Suzuki spokesperson said: “The further good news is that the owner has recently traded in his trusted Suzuki for a 2024 Approved Used Vitara Hybrid and will perhaps continue to travel these staggering distances with the brand in the coming years.
“This latest durability result also further reinforces Suzuki’s reputation and four easy-to-understand product pillars across its range, which are Tech, Efficiency, Quality and Trust.”
