PHILIPS Barista Brew Semi Automatic Espresso Machine

Was £529.99, now £399.99

Usually retailing for around £530, the single bean version of this machine is now reduced to £399.99 at a number of retailers, including Amazon. This makes it cheapest than what is probably its biggest competitor – and most popular of these types of machines – the Sage Barista machine, which is around £530.

It’s an impressive piece of kit: it looks great in your kitchen, and comes with professional-looking accessories: milk jug, calibrated tamper, portafilter and four different filter baskets. It’s easy to set up – although if you’re totally new to using these types of coffee machines, as our tester Laura was, we would recommend thoroughly reading the instructions and watching a few videos, however confident you normally are with gadgets.

When is the next Amazon Prime Day?

Amazon has announced that its next Prime Big Deal Days will kick off at 00:01 on Tuesday 7 October and run until 11:59 on 8 October. As this is a shorter sale period than some of Amazon’s – including July’s Prime Day and Black Friday – you haven’t got long if you want to make the most of these savings – which is why it could be a good idea to get ahead by shopping the deals deals now.

What will be included in the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days 2025 sale?

We don’t yet know exactly what products will be discounted during these sales days – and by how much – but if past shopping events are to go by, expect to see thousands of top products reduced across pretty much every category: homeware, tech, beauty, gardening, fashion and more. As we’re reaching autumn and winter, we bet there’ll be loads of offers on cold weather essentials, such as heaters, dehumidifiers and electric blankets (see above for our top picks).

How do you access these Amazon Prime Day deals?

To be eligible to shop these offers you need to be an Amazon Prime member. Membership costs £8.99 a month and gets your loads of perks, including next day delivery on thousands of items plus access to Prime Video, where you can watch hit TV shows such as Clarkson’s Farm and Molly-Mae: Behind It All.

If you’re not yet a member, you can sign up here for a 30-day free trial.

Don’t forget that Amazon isn’t the only place where you’ll find a great deal this autumn. Lookfantastic and Boots always run plenty of offers on beauty (including the super-popular Boots £10 Tuesday), Boden is currently running a huge sale, and Yimbly, the shopping platform owned by The Mirror’s parent company Reach Plc, has lots of household and garden essentials at excellent prices.
