A new brain teaser is putting puzzle enthusiasts through their paces, with many struggling to find the unhealthy foods hidden among a selection of fruits and vegetables

For anyone who enjoys puzzles or problems that require a little creative thinking, brainteasers are a great option, because they require problem-solving skills to find the answer. However, not everyone is able to solve these often challenging problems.

Unlike straightforward puzzle questions, like those found in crosswords, brainteasers require lateral thinking, which is useful when the answer to the question isn’t immediately clear and requires a more unconventional approach. While some struggle with this form of puzzle, for creative thinkers brainteasers offer a fantastic form of mental stimulation. But now there’s a new brainteaser that’s putting even the most seasoned of puzzle enthusiasts through their paces, with many struggling to find the ‘naughty foods’ hidden within the fruit and vegetable puzzle.

This brainteaser, which is themed around healthy eating, was released after the SunLife revealed that 81 percent of Brits aren’t getting the recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables each day. The aim of this new puzzle is to find the ‘unhealthy’ item mixed in among the illustrations of fruit and vegetables – but there’s a catch.

In order to beat the challenge, you need to find the unhealthy food in under 15 seconds, which has proved challenging. Packed full of tiny illustrations of bananas, apples, cherries, strawberries, kiwi, mango, passion fruit, grapes, oranges, melon slices, blueberries, pears, raspberries, and lemons, is a piece of cheese, which is rather well camouflaged amongst the fruit. The aim of a brainteaser is to offer mental exercise that’s designed to hone thinking skills and improve cognitive function, in addition to being fun to do. Often, this type of puzzle is used in schools, at job interviews, and as part of games nights at social get-togethers.
