Olivia Attwood is no stranger to holidays, and one of her must-have travel beauty products is a bronzing body oil that’s ‘better than a sun bed’ for giving your skin a glow

If there’s one person we’d trust with our holiday beauty recommendations, it’s Olivia Attwood. The presenter has a travel itinerary that would make anyone jealous, which means she’s carefully honed her holiday beauty must-haves over the years, and she recently shared some of her non-negotiables that she never travels without.

One of the many benefits of jetsetting abroad is coming home with a glowing tan, but more and more of us are now opting to stay out of the sun to protect our skin from damage. However that doesn’t mean you need to compromise on a healthy-looking glow, and one of Olivia’s favourite products is the Sol de Janeiro Glowmotions Bronze Glow Oil in shade Copacabana.

Olivia included the Glowmotions Bronze Glow Oil in a recent Instagram post that revealed her “staples in the sun” and showed herself using it whilst topping up her tan. The body oil is also a favourite with other celebs including Zara McDermott, as it not only adds a little natural-looking colour to your skin, but also adds a glow and subtle shimmer, making it perfect for holidays.

The Glowmotions Bronze Glow Oil is packed with ingredients that benefit your skin with each wear, including coconut oil which is rich in antioxidants and vitamin E. It’s shimmery, rather than glittery, which lets the light bounce off your skin to enhance your natural glow, giving you that golden hour effect all day (and night).

It’s best applied to clean, dry skin, and Sol de Janeiro recommends skipping the moisturiser before you apply it for the best results and to avoid transferring. As this has a subtle bronze tint to it, make sure you blend, blend, blend when applying it, so you don’t end up with telltale streaks or patches, although it’s much easier to get an even application than a traditional fake tan.

You can pick up a large 75ml bottle of the Glowmotions Bronze Glow Oil at Sephora for £30 which means it’s still suitable for hand luggage. For something a little more budget-friendly, Space NK’s Caribbean Shores Shimmer Body Oil is just £18 for 100ml. It has a more subtle bronzing effect, but boosts your skin’s shimmer and glow with a tropical scent of coconut, caramel and jasmine.

If you want to extend the glow to your face, the ICONIC London Prep-Set-Glow not only sets your makeup, but adds a light glowy sheen to your skin as the perfect summery finishing touch. It’s £26 and contains soothing and cooling ingredients like chamomile and cucumber extract, with vitamin E and green tea to protect and condition, and caffeine to reduce dark circles.

However the Glowmotions Bronze Glow Oil has been well rated on both LookFantastic and Sephora, with one LookFantastic shopper saying it’s “Better than a sun bed.”

Meanwhile a Sephora customer wrote: “Will make you look like a bronze goddess” and added: “I love this body glow oil. It leaves bronze instantly and completes the outfit. I wear it all the time when I want to look more bronzed and glowy. It definitely transfers if you don’t let it dry. I always put it on before I do my makeup, that way by the time my makeup is done the product dries and won’t transfer. Cannot recommend enough, especially for that summer glow look.”

One did say, however: “Gives a nice glow and tan/bronze color. Not the most moisturizing, and feels a bit drying.”
