WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT. As triple killer Nicholas Prosper faces life behind bars for murdering his family and plotting a school massacre, The Mirror takes a look at the twisted teenager’s vile fantasyland, which spilled over into reality
Gaming-obsessed triple killer Nicholas Prosper planned to go down in history as the perpetrator of “the biggest massacre in the 21st century” as he mapped out a school massacre plot.
The 19-year-old has been jailed for life and will spend at least 49 years behind bars for murdering his mother Juliana Falcon, 48, and siblings, Giselle Prosper, 13, and Kyle Prosper, 16 in a sick rampage at their family home in Luton. Prosper’s thirst for violence didn’t stop there, as he also intended to kill children and teachers in a horror massacre at his old school.
Thankfully, police caught the killer before he could unleash fury at Luton’s St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, where he and his siblings had once been pupils. But his foiled plot offers disturbing insight into the mind of a monster, who gunned down his own family in a bid for fame.

The teen killed his own family on the morning of Friday, September 13, deliberately choosing the superstitiously unlucky date for his attack. The court heard how Prosper had intended to kill 30 children as well as two teachers, his mother, two siblings and himself.
The student, who wanted to kill his mum and siblings in their sleep, test-fired at a teddy bear in his bedroom shortly before he shot his mother in a hallway. He then turned the gun on his sister hiding under a table before stabbing his brother more than 100 times and shooting him in the head.
But a few days after the shootings, the killer told prison nurse Tatenda Muketiwa that he didn’t hate his family, conceding that he’d a good life with them. He explained that he’d “just wanted to do this to be famous” and admitted: “I wish I had killed more.”
Prosper also said he was going to kill himself so he could join a fictional child character called Clementine from The Walking Dead computer game, who he desribed as a “friend” and obsessed over. His infatuation with this game, and in particular Clementine, was just the tip of the iceberg.
On the night of September 12, computer fanatic Prosper stayed online until around 4 am, searching for pornographic images of a character from The Walking Dead video game. He also researched the effect of gunshot wounds to the neck and made searches relating to necrophilia.
Luton Crown Court heard that Prosper had been attempting to ramp up the horror felt when police analysed his devices rather than having any real intent to carry out any depraved sexual acts. However, this was not the first time that Prosper had expressed disturbing views on necrophilia. The teen was even barred from a gore website – described as “a community intended to observe and contemplate the very real reality of death” – after his opinions on paedophilia and necrophilia were deemed unacceptable.
The sick killer, who repeatedly claimed children could consent to sex acts with adults, even confessed to having watched a child sexual abuse video, as per BBC News. However, at the time of writing, Prosper has not been charged in relation to possessing this sort of vile material. In one foul rant, Prosper tried to argue that, given that dead people weren’t able to consent to cremation, there shouldn’t be an issue about them consenting to necrophilia. Prosper also spoke of becoming sexually aroused after watching grim footage of car crashes, suicides, terrorist attacks and even executions.
He seemed to be morbidly fascinated by school shootings, referencing those which occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut in 2012 and at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas School in 2018. Prosper even followed several school massacre survivors on social media. He also admitted in custody to joining a “paedophile Twitter group”, and had disposed of two mobile phones following the killings to protect his online friends from being arrested, the court heard.
It’s believed Prosper began plotting the killings more than a year before the murders. In August 2023, he booked a session at a Hertfordshire shooting range but failed to turn up. He later explained that his plans had initially been stalled as he could not figure out how to get hold of a firearm.
By April 2024, Prosper had put together a black and yellow uniform that he’d intended to wear during his rampage. He also filmed a chilling video, which saw him holding a plank of wood as a mock gun, acting out shooting people. A month later, Prosper was working on faking a firearms certificate and was researching mass killings online, including the Manchester bombing and the atrocity by Anders Breivik. He also looked up his old primary school.
Sentencing the Prosper, Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb said that the case featured many “recurrent themes” seen in school shootings; a young male perpetrator who chose a “uniform” for the killings, had a sexual interest in children, withdrew into an online world and showed a lack of empathy towards victims.
By the time he shot Juliana, Kyle and Giselle, Prosper had developed a disturbing fixation on Clementine, the little girl in his game who he vowed to ‘protect’ from other users. He would make his displeasure known when players did things which, in his view, would negatively impact the fictional character.
In a video shared to YouTube just a few short hours before the killings, Prosper told the camera: “I am the chosen one; chosen by Clementine. I am guided as Christians are guided by Jesus Christ.” In this same clip, which has since been deleted, Prosper expressed anger towards his younger sister Giselle for allegedly making mistakes in the game. He vowed: “On June 30 my sister decided to make the incorrect choices on episode one of season one of The Walking Dead games and for that her face will be mutilated further than is necessary.”
Speaking with the Mirror, criminologist Alex Iszatt shed light on Prosper’s chilling obsession with Clementine. According to her, the character – a vulnerable child who grows stronger based on the player’s choices in the game – became the centre of his delusional world. “To Nicholas, she represented an ideal version of himself—someone weak who could become powerful under his control,” the expert explained.
“Unlike real women, who he despised for their autonomy, Clementine was a digital entity he could shape and dominate. His attachment to her wasn’t about protection or purity; it was about control. When his 13-year-old sister made an in-game choice he disagreed with, he saw it as a betrayal. His statement wasn’t a protective instinct gone wrong—it was an unstable mind using fantasy to justify real-world violence.”
During his two-day sentencing, the court heard that Prosper told a prison nurse that he was going to kill himself after committing the school shooting he planned. He claimed he would be able to join his “friend” Clementine, saying they had been “friends for some time.”
Following his arrest, Prosper wrote out his plans for mass murder in notes, which a prison officer found in his trainer sole after a cell search on November 13, 2024. The note reads: “I was right in predicting no-one would’ve called the police had I killed them in their sleep. 3 shots under 30 seconds.
“The only known phone call to police that day was made by the b***h at the door as a result of my b***h mother waking them up and it being turned into a long struggle. My plan wasn’t ‘stupid’. I was f****** right. MY MOTHER IS A STUPID F****** COW.”
This plan also included a step-by-step guide for the intended school shooting, which would see Prosper leave the flat at 8.40 am on his mother’s bike, arriving at the primary school for 9 am. According to this plan, Prosper intended to “shout that this is a robbery and for everyone to get down” before gunning down the two teachers and massacring the children.
Maureen Murphy, headteacher at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, said: “We were extremely shocked and devastated to learn that there was a plan to target children and staff at our school, in particular the early years classes. However we are comforted that our children and staff did not come to any harm. We would like to reassure our parents and carers that the safety of children is of paramount importance and this will never be compromised.”
Defending, David Bentley KC stated that Prosper had committed “a really incomprehensible offence”, adding: “Something went very wrong with this young man in the year or so before these events took place.” He went on to assert that Prosper had been living “in a fantasy world”, continuing: “Unfortunately, that fantasy world broke out into the real world.”
The court heard how problems began to emerge after Prosper enrolled in sixth-form college, which he hadn’t wanted to attend but had felt pressured by his mother to continue his education. Although he was referred for mental health support, he refused to engage.
Senior Crown Prosecutor Shan Saunders told the court: “Our thoughts today are with those who knew and loved Juliana, Giselle and Kyle. Nicholas Prosper’s cold and calculated killing of his mother, brother and sister and the revelation that he planned to shoot a class of school children and their teachers has left his family devastated and an entire community in shock.
“The evidence in this case was indisputable and, unable to defend his actions, he admitted to his crimes. It is beyond comprehension that a young man would want to kill those closest to him and target innocent young children. His clear lack of empathy and remorse is highly unusual and deeply concerning.”
