Emergency services were called to Newsham Park in Liverpool following a large disturbance at the premises tonight just after 9pm – two men have been rushed to hospital with head injuries
Two men have been rushed to hospital with head injuries after attending an event at Newsham Park tonight.
Photos taken at the scene show people on the street leaving the event as they walk past a number of police cars and ambulances attending the incident. One person at the rave told Liverpool Echo: “I have no idea what’s happened. They just stopped the music and told us to get out .”
Merseyside police has now confirmed: “We can confirm that emergency services were at Newsham Park Hospital following a disturbance at the premises tonight, Friday 3 April. Just after 9pm we received a report of a large disturbance during an event at Newsham Park Hospital. Two men have been taken to hospital with head injuries. The premises has been evacuated by police patrols in the area.”

The D.O.D event had to be stopped because of the incident. The sold out event at the Asylum was due to end at 10pm but had to be stopped early. According to people at the event the music was stopped suddenly before they were all told they needed to leave.
DJ D.O.D, a Brit nominated, multi-platinum house music producer, has posted a statement to his Instagram story after the show ended prematurely. He said: “Liverpool I’m so sorry the show was cut short, there were multiple incidents in the crowd which lead to the police shutting down the show.
“This is the last thing I wanted but your safety means more to me than carrying on the show. Music is about coming together. Hope to see you all again soon.”
