Shopping writer Lauren got her hands on the OK! Beauty Box Scent Discovery Edit, full of fragranced goodies

Fragrance has always been one of my favourite parts of beauty – the way a scent can instantly shift my mood or bring up a specific memory is magic. So when I heard about a new beauty box that lets shoppers explore fragrance across body, hair, lips, and even the home, I was immediately intrigued.

The OK! Beauty Box Scent Discovery Edit features eight products (five of which are full-size) from big names, including Vera Wang, Disciple and Aromatherapy Associates. The box is worth £200 but retails for £59.99, saving shoppers £140, which works out at just under £7.50 per product.

I was offered the chance to review it this week and, naturally, I jumped at the opportunity to try something new and maybe even discover a future signature scent. So, how did it fare? Let’s find out.

My honest review of the Scent Discovery Edit

From the moment I opened the box, I had a feeling it was going to be a good one. There’s a real variety inside, covering everything from lips and body care to home fragrance, and it genuinely feels considered rather than thrown together.

Value-wise, it’s strong too, especially since five of the eight products are full-size. I’ve found that it isn’t always the case with beauty boxes, which tend to lean heavily on travel minis.

The bundle includes picks from Vera Wang, Aromatherapy Associates, FUL and more.

The products themselves were largely a hit, though naturally I gravitated towards some more than others. My standout favourite has to be the travel-sized Cerise Noire candle from Disciple.

With notes of cherry, patchouli and leather, it’s rich without being overpowering. I lit it almost immediately, and it quickly became a calming addition to my work-from-home setup. I’ve never come across a candle in a beauty box before, but it actually makes perfect sense – fragrance doesn’t stop at what you wear, and a good home scent is just as mood-lifting.

Another highlight was the Aromatherapy Associates Revive Body Oil. It genuinely smells like stepping into a spa, thanks to its blend of rosemary and grapefruit, and it left my skin feeling silky without any greasy residue.

For anyone who prefers a little shimmer, though, PHLUR’s Beach Skin Shimmering Body Oil (£45, SpaceNK) is also worth mentioning. I tried it recently, and it smells like a holiday in a bottle, adding a subtle glow to my skin.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the Avant Pure Emerald Eau de Parfum. On paper, a mix of cotton candy, rose, and cedar could lean overly sweet, but it’s actually quite balanced. The cotton candy note adds a softness rather than a sugary hit, making it wearable and a bit different from your typical floral.

That said, fragrance is deeply personal, and not everything landed for me. The Vera Wang Body Mist in green tea and pear blossom just wasn’t quite my style – it felt a bit more mature than what I’d usually go for, and the longevity wasn’t great either (though that’s fairly typical of body mists versus eau de parfums).

The FUL Styling Spray also felt like a slightly unexpected inclusion in a fragrance-focused box. It does have scent notes of raspberry, peach and rose, but I struggled to pick them up. That said, it performed well as a styling product, smoothing frizz and adding shine, so it still earned its place in my routine.

Instead, I think a perfumed hair mist might have been a better option. The Maria Nila Floral Drift Hair Mist (£22, Cult Beauty), for instance, leaves a light floral scent for a beautiful finish.

One thing I will say is that, unlike some beauty boxes where a few items inevitably go unused, I can see myself reaching for almost everything here (bar the Vera Wang mist, which I’ll be passing on to a friend).

The verdict

Overall, this is a really strong beauty box, especially for any fragrance fans. It feels a little more elevated and thoughtful than your average edit, with a mix that goes beyond just perfume and into how scent can shape your wider routine and environment. For £59.99, the value is hard to argue with, and it’s a fun way to discover new favourites.
